In this video we tackle the question on everyone's mind, is the Valken M17 a good choice for New Magfed Players. How much would it cost for everything needed to play? Is it reliable and easy to maintain? How does it perform and will it work with FSR? What if I want to modify the marker? Can I increase it's overall performance? As a new player, these questions and concerns are very valid. Our goal in this video was to answer these questions and more. The m17 is my first magfed marker I used to run a tippmann a5 for like 15 years Nowdays i love my m17 so much my a5 is now my secondary back up gun

Curious did you run a Taccap on your A5 too? Or did you convert it to Magfed?

I bought my m17 back in fall and constantly having problems with it every since day 1. My field uses 68 cal rounds gi sport . And im constantly having problems with mags not wanting to feed properly, and had to fix the gun itself several times 😓. I wanan be a magfed player because when it actually finally works 😅. Its so much fun. But so far regret buying this marker. There's always something wrong with it. But it makes me wish I saved my money up for a t15 or emf 100

Magfed markers like the m17 in general were designed for FSR. The main issue when using RB is going to be the magazine spring tension. The problem compounds if a softshell RB is used. Valken graffiti is generally the recommended round. We don’t promote RB use in Magfed for that reason.

@@magfedranchpaintballknowing that these are such a hassle I don’t understand as why you recommend it so much. I would 100 percent recommend a tmc and if they enjoy it sell it and buy a more serious marker.

@@eliaslopez719 you must keep mind the objective on why I recommend the M17 and also the T15. 1) Magfed only gameplay. 2) FSR or shaped projectile ONLY gameplay, which eliminates a stock TMC. 3) MILSIM gameplay where the markers and loadout look realistic as possible. Based upon those criteria, the M17 & T15 are the only 2 mainstream choices. The 468 is not reliable with FSR as I've documented. The EMF is not MILSIM looking stock. The issues with RB is eliminated with FSR use only.

I get that this video was about the valken mag fed marker... and comparing it to other options... but it came across as "even w a inexpensive marker you are going to need to spend a bajillion dollars to even see if this is something you want to do long term"

You are not incorrect in saying this. However, the good thing about the M17 is that it's scalable. Out of the box it is reliable with FSR and has the consistent Heatcore system to which you can build a DMM or Sniper setup in the future. Compared to other platforms like the T15 or EMF100 you're going to save $200-$250 for a similar build. Thank you for watching and let us know if there is anything else.

Sure. Ive played a long time and play w our local magfed group here from time to time. I understand wanting to get people into the sport. Maybe a future video on how to find out if magfed is for you before spending all the $$ on equipment would be good? Or maybe you've already done that? Good video my friend, thank you.

Guys doubt here, today what would you recommend? Valken m17 A2, TMC Elite or Maxtact TGR2 CQB MK2?

We don't have any experience with the TGR2 but from what we've researched about it, it is a similar blowback design to the 468. The FPS consistency of that system (+- 15 or more FPS) is nowhere near the consistency of the Heatcore (+-5FPS) in the M17 so elevation accuracy is most likely going to be worse. Once again we haven't done accuracy tests with the TGR2 only the 468 so we cannot confirm this. The TMC Elite is not FSR capable out of the box so we did not include it in our comparisons.

could just be my environment but is anyone else’s m17 parts rusting easily. Prolly used it for a solid 3 rec days when I would mess around w it for a game or two, I clean my markers the day or day after when I get home. But almost every screw is rusted… operator error? Or is mcs giving out some nasty bolts screws?
