Well in magic, illusions are pretty vulnerable to spells. So that means that illusion would just disappeared from the start.

Jace really, actually doesn't talk like that, though. Maybe in flavour text, but definitely not in Uncharted Realms and the novels. He's more of a dorky kid than a petulant teenager.

I find it amusing that we seem to be almost ignoring the "he's 18 and thinks he rules the world" side of Jace here. I mean, the kid is denying the advice of a centuries-old necromancer, a millenia-old dragon, and nearly every sane person in the multiverse by trying to single-handedly solve the mysteries of Innistrad. If that doesn't scream "I'm a man now, I do what I want!" then I don't know what does...

I do totally get this, but to be honest, the plot would suck if every problem that arose Jace just solves instantaneously. It would just be boring.

Well, the issue with Jace is that he is a mind mage and mental magic is just broken, since either it doesn't make since why he doesn't use the magic or the solution is solved in a matter of seconds. It's one of those things that they should just let Jace run things on Ravnica, temporarily leave the Guildpact and a different Blue walker takes his place, new or already exiting shouldn't entirely matter.

A bigger issue is why jace became so 1-dimensional. He used to be a conflicted character with guilt over his past deeds. With the origins retcon, he's just confused and stressed.

I especially love the commander deck-tech as commander is my favorite format. Planeswalkers are resistant to each others powers otherwise whoever had the faster reflexes would just kill their opponent instantly. Jaces powers don't work on unwilling planeswalkers.
