In this video you'll discover the nootropics benefits of Magnesium. This is an update to the video I did on Magnesium several years ago.
You will learn why we use Magnesium as a nootropic, recommended dosage, side effects, clinical research, the best type of magnesium to buy and what magnesium to avoid.
Magnesium is the 4th most abundant mineral in your body and brain. And critical for optimal cognitive health. It is a cofactor in more than 600 enzymatic reactions in your body.
As a nootropic, Magnesium is necessary for (adenosine triphosphate) ATP synthesis for brain cell energy production. It’s needed for the Krebs cycle that turns sugar and fat from your diet into ATP. The primary fuel source produced within mitochondria in brain cells.
Magnesium controls the ion channels in brain cells required for learning and memory. These tiny electrical switches control the transmission of electrical signals between neurons. Directly regulating learning and memory.
As an anti-aging nootropic, remember that low levels of Magnesium in your diet correlate to a high incidence of neurodegenerative disease including Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Disease. And many of us in Western society are living with a Magnesium deficiency. Most are unaware of this deficiency.
Most neurohackers report an increased level of focus, energy, memory, and cognitive ability when supplementing with Magnesium. You should also experience an improved quality of sleep. And have an overall improvement in mood.
Most types of supplemental Magnesium cannot easily cross the blood-brain barrier. So don't provide any benefit as a nootropic. Experienced nootropics users prefer using Magnesium-L-Threonate up to 1 gram per day.
This in-depth updated Magnesium review covers:

During menopause I had twitching legs when trying to sleep. My sleep was very disrupted due to sweats. I tried magnesium malate and that first night I slept like a baby., better than I can remember. Within two nights my twitching legs stopped. I was lucky to straight away find the one that worked for me. I now use the threonine some days too.

Wondering what you think of the latest Berg video about Melatonin. Seems that high doses help prevent Alzheimers. but even the smallest amount makes me foggy the next day.
@NootropicsExpert
@NootropicsExpert 4 месяца назад
I do not recommend using melatonin as a supplement period. No matter what Berg says. Your brain uses 0.5 - 0,8 mg melatonin during the night. I do not know of the supplement with that small of a dosage. And I would not trust the label anyway. The easiest safest way to increase melatonin is to first increase serotonin by using L-Tryptophan. Serotonin goes on the naturally make melatonin in your brain.

Hello i have a question. I took 3g of phenibut because i didn't felt anything from less. My question is how long does the substance stay in my body? Its been 13 hours since i took it. Is it out yet? Because i would like to take dextromethorphan and i am worried to get a serotonin syndrome? Is it out? Please answer. 🙂👍♥️

Phenibut has a half-life of 5.3 hours. So should be completely cleared from your system within 12 - 24 hours.

Thanks Mr. Tomen, I have a question not related with this video but with a specific racetam. I couldn't find any information about the possible use of levetiracetam (Keppra) as a nootropic. What are your thoughts about this? I understand it's a prescription drug but it's still a racetam, so I wonder if it has nootropic effects. Thanks for all your work and the valuable information you provide freely. Kind regards

It should not be a problem with that dose of L-Tryptophan. "Should" is the keyword because it depends on how sensitive your are to these supplements.

Is it possible to have adequate levels of folate and b12 and still be low in SAM-e? Also, will you make any videos about liposomal technology? Thankyou sir
@NootropicsExpert
@NootropicsExpert 4 месяца назад
It is possible but this varies from person to person. And BTW, if you have adequate levels of folate and B12 and not Vitamin B6 you will have excess homocysteine. Which can cause heart problems.

Been taking magnesium now faithfully for one full year. I’ve heard and read about just how important it is for cognitive health. At 65 years of age , cognitive function is extremely important to me. But I can say I have not noticed any benefits or improvement of cognitive function. Doctor’s Best : magnesium glycinate - 2 tablets every morning magnesium l-theronate - 2 tablets at bedtime 2 tablets equivalent to 200 mg of elemental magnesium. Both types are chelated . I’ll continue to take it as the literature says it’s vital for good health. I’m not looking to have the cognitive ability of my younger years, but I am disappointed. On a positive note, it does help with sleep. I’ll continue taking it for that reason , if not for anything else.

Nellis, there is no "one pill" solution. Please see my video or read my article on Best Nootropics for the Aging Brain. You need 1 - 2 supplements from each category and you'll notice a difference within 2 - 3 weeks of consistent use. Here is that video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-s2OBsI4qtxo.html

@NootropicsExpert
@NootropicsExpert 4 месяца назад
If you are talking about melatonin then no, I do not use it nor do I recommend melatonin. I recommend using L-Tryptophan instead because it helps make serotonin which goes not to naturally produce melatonin in your brain.

We've been using Colloidal Magnesium and Magnesium L- Threonate to be sure. I'm thinking the Nano sized Colloidal Mag should pass the blood brain barrier? Also Using Colloidal Zinc in the stack, Iodine, Taurine, Choline, Lion's Mane, a few others, especially trying to help my wife.
