Except it would not be in Magneto's character to stay behind in the shadows. Atleast not when he has the opportunity to address the entire world. His pride and anger won't allow him to hide his own identity. Also Trask would have immediately figured out regardless that some mutant was controlling the robots. (So nothing would have changed) The stadium was necessary to prevent anyone from escaping. He was also holding people hostage so that nobody from outside would think about making funny moves.

And it definitely wouldn't matter what Trask knew if the very first act of the Sentinels was to *open fire on the stage* killing him, the President, _Striker,_ and a bunch of other senior officials who also head the anti mutant task force. Even just having one 'malfunction' with a Gatling gun would be enough. But removing the people most responsible for anti mutant measures would have been a victory if mutants managed to avoid the blame. And the obvious explanation is that the mutant detector was faulty, it gave a false positive or identified a latent mutant who didn't know what they were - or even someone who was Human but had a mutant child - like Striker. And that the Sentinels have no concern for collateral damage. "If these machines are let loose, they will kill anyone who just happens to be standing near someone that has even a single recessive mutant gene". (Which is what they evolve to targeting eventually). Eric could have convinced Charles to use his powers to make sure that's the narrative that gets out there, for _"the good of us all. What's done is done Charles, it's up to you to make the best out of the situation. If I'm blamed for this, the future we all fear will occur. Except Magneto wanted the conflict between Humans and Mutants. He says so as addresses the mutants of the world after he lifts the bunker. He realizes through inaction Humanity in the future gains ground and ultimately wins in part because they got a hold of Raven and the Sentinel program. By striking out he would change the balance of power and enable the mutants to strike first, fast and hard against the world of man.

@@casbot71 Magneto knew humans would never be able to fully accept mutants, he wanted to fight and dominate them before they had the tech power to defeat the mutants. A sentinel malfunction scenario would only delay the inevitable. Humans can barely coexist with each other, much less with mutants. Magneto was right.

He has minor computer manipulation because of his powers. It’s not telekinesis for metal. It’s magnetism. By expression he should be able to magnetically mess with a computer (or robot), interface to exploit it.

The logistics of this is too complex for someone who can control metal.

There is also a scene of magneto injecting the robots with metal earlier in the film. With metal inside them, he can do anything and the metal indirectly also controls the electricity.

@@jackbruno953 Injecting the robots would allow him to move them, yes....but not to see thru their eyes, much less target anything or even just know when to fire. So the idea of using them to establish a defensive perimeter, beyond Magneto's sightline, seems rather unrealistic.

Also what are you referring to in which he sees from the robot’s perspective? I know there pov shots from the robots but there is no implication that magneto sees through them. Why the fuck would he see through them if he is standing right next to them???

@@jackbruno953 He literally positions the robots at the edges of the stadium, on all sides of it, to defend against any incoming threats. What's the point of doing that unless A) he can see through their eyes, or B) he has reprogrammed them to shoot policemen or any other incoming threat. Either way, it's extremely unrealistic. He is no master programmer, nor can he magically see what the robots are seeing.

Since she was introduced in marvel COMICS decades ago it’s long been part of her power set to have clothes be apart of her camouflage, even the length of her hair and nails can be altered. It’s a well established power of hers. Does it make anymore sense that some human can lift an entire stadium with his mind? It's obviously different from a human being able to lift metal with his mind because that's literally his power. That's within his powerset given how it's explained. It's not the same thing here where they have an issue with how she does something given how the power is explained.

Mystique power set has always included her being able to create clothes from her mutation, in the comics she’s even able to turn into smaller animals. It’s within her powerset and how her powerset is explained.

@@MOMO-436 If the mutation is explained as her being able to manipulate her skin then no her ability to create clothes is not explained by that. Magnetos powers function on a consistent framework within their rules regardless of how arbitrary those rules are. The same doesn't go for mystique if her rules are that she can manipulate the shape of her own skin and outer body. To tell the truth I don't rlly think that's how her powers are supposed to work so I'd disagree with the original commenter but the outrage from you about a question on how powers work is a little weird. Like there were plenty of ways to disagree with them and you chose the worst one.
