Will I recover and to what extent will I get my old self back? Questions that rush through our minds daily. Will all those therapies, exercises and suffering amount to anything?
How I recovered from a debilitating stroke. I struggled with memory loss, aphasia, regaining the use of my body etc. An inspirational, personal journey with the methods and attitudes than allowed me to recover. I follow my personal progress through several episodes. My message is "Don't Give in to Stroke!"

The removal of seed oils, ALL sugars, and grains of any kind have been the best thing. Dr. Ken Berry here on RU-vid supports it all.

That was great. Some great insights into stroke I'm 65 , I had my stroke when I was 63. I too looked for that magic pill , for a process, exercise or meditation or mindset that would get me through this. Alas it was not forthcoming. Apart from the physical aspect of stroke there is a huge financial and social price. All of my hopes, dreams and plans come to nought after the stroke. I have to reimagine my life at the age of 63 and somehow find something, anything to give me strength to move forward. Will I even work again ? What empoyer would consider me for a job ? Is employment even possible for me at my age with the damage done by the stroke ? I guess the things that are being taught to me are if I am having a good/ great day then embrace it and if the day is full of suicidal thoughts then sit with it and believe that the next hour , the next day will be an improvement. Thank you for your podcast

Very good advice..........am 3 yrs into parietal lobe hemmorhagic stroke. Struggle every day, with no support. The only way to understand stroke............. is to have one, and believe me, y'don't want that!

@@garywalling4341 yes Gary , you've hit the nail right on the head. My doctor is a decent fellow but him being fit and healthy he cannot understand my position. You are right when you say that you can only understand the " shock " of a stroke by experiencing it and I do not wish that on anyone. Good on you Gary , hope you can find a way to navigate the trauma and hopefully find a bit of happiness and joy

@@normanmacfarlane6724 It's not just the 'shock' it's the aftermath. Spasticity, pain, frustration, fear, fatigue and hopelessness. That's b4 I even brush on the mental issues. I wasn't so shocked as I'd had a couple of TIA's before the main event. Admitidly I wasn't aware of what they were. More importantly they weren't diagnosed either. Just thought I was run down/lack of sleep/bad diet etc. Was a consistant drinker also. So my (right frontal, perietal hemmorhagic stroke) was caused by, high blood pressure which led to hypertension fuelled by stress, neglect, vit 12 deficiency confounded by 'alcohol excess'. So now? Happiness and joy? Closest family members brushed me aside as have the medical proffession. So am practically alone watching the World degenerate b4 my eyes on a daily basis. I have my Sativex though, which is helpful.
