Materials and patterns:
Size #3 Yarn - I used Lion Brand Mandala
3.5mm Crochet Hook.
Bent Tip Darning Needle
Assorted Buttons
Sewing Needle
Thread
Basic Half Double Crochet Granny Square (US)
Half Treble Crochet Granny Square (UK)
Size 3 yarn, size 3.5mm crochet hook
Round 1 - Magic Loop, 2 Half Double Crochet (hdc), chain(ch) 1 (4 times)
Slip Stitch (ss) Join at top of 1st hdc, ch 1 & turn.
Round 2 - in ch 1 space from the previous round (2 hdc, ch 1, 2 hdc) 4 times, ss join at top of 1st hdc, ch 1 & turn.
Round 3 - 2 hdc in each gap between hdc clusters from the previous round. At each corner (2 hdc, ch 1, 2 hdc)
Repeat round 3 until the square is the size you want!
