Foaming oatmeal & milk bath bomb that's great for skin! I just love bath bombs in the tub & knowing that they're great for my skin is a real bonus!
RECIPE: 1 cup (250 grams) baking soda, 1/2 cup (100 grams) citric acid, 1/4 cup (30 grams) corn starch, 3 tablespoons milk powder (I used coconut), 1/8 cup colloidal oatmeal, 1 tablespoon clay (I used bentonite), 1 teaspoon titanium dioxide (makes water an opaque white, just like milk!), 1 teaspoon (5 milliliters) fragrance oil, 1 teaspoon (5 milliliters) polysorbate 80, & 1.5 teaspoons (7.5 milliliters) surfactant (I used cocamidopropyl betaine).
Decorative Batch: 1/2 cup mix (recipe from above), 1 tablespoon sodium lauryl sulfoacetate - it produces foam & lather (or sodium lauryl sulfate or sodium cocoyl isethionate), 1 tablespoon [small pieces] of butter (I used cocoa), 1 tablespoon oatmeal, 1/2 teaspoon walnut shells (optional for decoration).
Mix dry & wet ingredients together separately. Add wet to dry very slowly while whisking (the slower the better). Then rub mix between hands to ensure ingredients are thoroughly & evenly incorporated. Divide mix for multiple colors. MOLDING: Add mix, filling to the top, then lightly pack it. Add loose mix on top. Repeat for other side. Smoosh both sides together tightly until the molds touch all the way around. Tap with a spoon to release the bomb. Dry for 24 hours.
*** You could always use cheesecloth wrapping for easy clean up, plus, I think it looks great!
RESULTS: I loved these. First, they performed wonderfully; they are vibrant and have thick bubbles and rich foam. They smell amazing and infuse the bath water with notes of vanilla and oatmeal and a hint of coconut milk. They also turn the bath water an opaque white, which I love, because it adds to the luxurious bath milk vibe. This was such a luxurious bath bomb. Pamper yourself with this one, you deserve it!

I love to watch your videos. Can you tell me if you use cacao butter in powder or in solid form? And if it’s in solid form, do you have to melt it before putting it in the second mixture? Thank you very much 💜

This was great! I've just discovered bath bomb making and I'm obsessed. I've been trying to create a milk-bath type bomb just like yours but with goat's milk, colloidal oatmeal, sea salt, coconut oil/Shea butter, etc. It's very dry in my house, which is good, but I'm finding I have to spritz with witch hazel or rubbing alcohol 10 to 15 times before the mixture holds together. Is that normal? They have turned out pretty good, but it seems like I'm having to spritz way more than any recipe calls for. I'll try your recipe and see if they come together better.

I don't like spritzing with alcohol & witch hazel, I find it dries my bombs out. Check this out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Dx35OPNjuGk.html
