To clean the brushes and springs 100% clean and easier, roll the brushes on the sticky side of masking tape ends folded over to lay flat on a hard surface. Place the spring on an un-bent piece of a paper clip to roll it across the tape and dont forget to press the spring side of the brush on the tape as well. You can hold another piece of the piece of tape and press the arm side of the brush to the tape to clean that. If wanted you can drill just the right size hole to the exact depth needed in a piece of wood or something(pencil end eraser maybe?)even grab the brush with tweezers to place in the hole) to hold the brush instead of fingers to press the piece of tape to the brush. Something similar to hold the complete armature to clean the comm.
Tyco 440/440X2 are really easy once you have done it a few times. Narrow chassis is easier than the black wide chassis. Wide is more of a challenge removing and reinstalling the motor assembly. A lot more force to spread it enough. You'll think it's going to break but I have never broken one. I have a technique for every aspect of the process. Quick and easy.
Hi, it sounds like your tires are old and dry! Try putting on a new set of silicone rear tires. That should improve it significantly!! Happy Racing and God Bless!!!
