There's a plethora of vehicles out there for heater cores that could would work. If you guys need to eliminate a glovebox to get the HVAC to fit, that's a trade worth taking. You probably will be tabbing

Def right on that. They should let into a Motorsport heater core. They’re more compact with same if not higher outputs than factory cars. Tesla AC compressor or another from an electric car. They’d maybe need a second battery and higher amp alternator

Awesome build, I can't wait to see it in SEMA! For a simpler AC system you might wanna go with a high amp alternator and battery then add one of those retrofit 12V under dash HVAC systems. They don't push a lot of BTUs but enough for a windshield defroster and keeping temp down in mild climates.

Looking great guys! Brings back memories of cutting out the tunnel in my ‘03 Marauder when I added a TR6060.. I had never dealt with an under mount shifter before. Never seen one installed either so I started off a bit baffled. But after very critical measurements the new tunnel turned out factory like on the first try! I still get a stomach ache just thinking of when I grinded out the huge hole in my beloved sedan.. I took me a couple of nights before I was finally committed and ready to operate!

Absolutely YES for the AC, I personally would suggest having a look at an AC HVAC unit from a smaller car similar to a Toyota Camry or Carolla so, it will fit. In the very early days of motoring the foot control pedals were actually floor mounted.
@Crunchymunchys
@Crunchymunchys 6 месяцев назад
Yes to AC, also please look into sound deadening. Its a Lincoln and will have a ton, that windshield will be one part of the sound deadening as it will be considered to have an acoustic interlayer (Ford calls its soundshield). You won't make it whisper quiet without noise canceling white noise but you can make that V10 sound less aggressive in the cabin which is what draws a lot of luxury car owners to luxury cars as the sound can be tiring on long drives, that and you have to listen to peasants asking for things like food and shelter
@dirtleg13
@dirtleg13 6 месяцев назад
Man a build of this in depth quality, and keeping with the whole idea of Lincoln and the historical luxury aspect, you cannot skip the A/C and heat. It used to be common to put the A/C evaporator core in an insulated box in the engine compartment and duct through it. Not saying you need to do that but there are options. Having seen the creative and brilliant solutions you have come up with so far, I have 100% confidence you will figure it out.

Because you guys aren't some practised custom shop introducing personality/ies and artificial dram. Your drama is the obstacle/s, the how and the doing. For blokes that are whinging a seriously complex build.....you are amazing. I bet there are plenty of trade professionals out there that are learning from you and sadly plenty would never admit. I have learnt a bucket load. Thank you. One final thing Your presentation, the way you talk with out trying to be something your not is key also to enjoying the show. Loving the old school sheet metal work guys. Last year I decided to make flared wheel arches out of sheet metal for my 80’s Corolla for an OEM look. I Bought the bead roller, shrinker/stretcher, hammer and dolly. How hard can it be? Took me 5 attempts! Super fun once you start to understand how the material reacts as you distort and shape it. There are lots of A/C things you can look at. Have a look at vintage air systems. They are quite compact. Or you could build your own heater/AC box out of fiberglass or carbon. Make a plug out of foam and lay it over the top. Electrics will be the biggest thing. Getting it all to work with the Body Control module.
