I have been asked a few times why I don’t use a hand injector for making soft plastics and the simple answer is I have never had one and they have only recently been available in this country. I thought I would try making my own before committing some pounds to buying something that I might not get the use out of. After making my own I am not sure I will be buying one unless they can also make ups of tea.
This was like all my experiments a learning curve and I learnt I really need to make better moulds to get the best out of hand injectors.
WARNING
If you're planning to make your own injector be warned soft plastics are bloody hot and as person who has spent a month with a hand in bandages from a burn I can tell you it ain't fun, never mind what it does to your sex life(laugh here). These are the fittings I used
Gloves, thick gloves the kind that will stop you getting burnt
A long sleeved thick jacket or sweat top the kind that is going to stop you getting burnt
Jeans the kind that will stop you getting burnt
Socks and shoes the kind that will stop you getting burnt
And any other sh#t that will stop you getting burnt and protect your eyes and get a mask
15mm x 10mm compression reducer
15mm copper pipe
6mm flat head bolt
A mix of O Rings
Easyflo 60 polyurethane resin
Aluminum powder
Vaseline (teehee)
Wooden dowel
