I was so much fun to watch you make a quilt for the dollhouse. My mom and dad and my brother and sister help too made me a doll house for Christmas one year when I was about 8 years old I played with it and it was just wonderful I gave it to my children and doll houses are great really enjoyed seeing this thanks a lot Beth

So, on the "tie quilt," the various embroidered stitches are the "quilting?"

This quilt top is unfinished and was just the top… I’ve seen many of these crazy quilts finished with just a backing and no batting.

The crazy quilt top was a great find for sure, and using it as inspiration. It is exciting to see all the things you make a do in the tiny house. I bet the grand daughter will be very excited to play with all the things when you are done. It is strange for me that when you made the quilt with cotton like the crazy one I loved it. I am not sure how I feel about using ties, if I like them or not. I like how you did the little one, the colored thread for sure helped hive it some brightness. Thanks for sharing again your creativity.

Hi Beth, Awhile back, after viewing this video, I found a book - the magic of Crazy Quilting by J. Marsha Michler at the thrift shop. I have my Dad’s ties. He passed 11 months ago. I don’t have enough to make a quilt but maybe once sewn on the muslin, it will be enough for a remembrance pillow to cuddle. Thank you for the inspiration!

I love your tiny crazy quilt. The doll house and mice are adorable. The crazy quilt you bought is nice. I really like the fabric that you used to back your quilt. It would make pretty doll clothes. If you wanted to use it in quilts you could back it with a lightweight white cotton fabric or a lightweight iron on interfacing.

Hi Beth! That's just the cutest thing!! I was scared you were going to cut up the one you bought!! What a great find 😊 I found a book years ago called My Daddy's Ties for inspiration & started scouring estate & garage sales for ties. A local church close to my house has a great, huge "garage sale" every year & has great finds. I usually go on the last day-a Saturday-& they hand you a big brown paper sack as you come in & everything you can fit in the sack is $7 (I think, it's been awhile since I went). I would go at lunch on Fridays (I was working then) to scope out where the ties were & then go first thing Saturday morning to get my goodies!! I love how you did your little quilt-I like the zig-zag touch & of course your hand embroidery. Can't wait to see what else gets added to the little house 💗

That edging on the tape is called picot edging, and the "t" is silent.

Your tiny quilt and the one you found are lovely. Who made the fabulous doll house and furniture? I really enjoy your channel--thanks! I used to dream of making a crazy quilt and borrowed that book from the library many years ago. Perhaps I will get done a crazy quilt potholder on a muslin foundation and embroidered before adding the layers of batting and Insulbright.

This turned out very pretty. Was it hard to push the needle through the many layers of fabric? A Crazy Quilt jacket would be beautiful made this way (made from washable, colorfast, fabrics).
