I experiment with combining the two videos listed below to create some absolutely stunning ornaments for you to try! The alcohol Ink ornaments below are gorgeous (really... I've never seen one turn out badly) and I loved the look of the mirrored ornaments in the short video I put together... combining the two seemed to be a natural.
There were a couple of fails along the way but if you follow the steps in the video you won't go wrong!!

They really turned out lovely! The trick was sealing up the alcohol ink so it doesn't get reactivated by the mirroring spray!

Hi Cindy, I was wondering if you could do the alcohol inks on the outside and the mirroring on the inside and shorten the time needed to do the balls? Thoughts? TY🙏🏻

Absolutely... many people do all the 'inking' on the outside but remember to seal the outside then. I choose not to because i prefer the smooth glass texture of all the 'paint' and products being contained on the inside. Nothing wrong with either way... just a personal preference!

Cindy, these are beautiful. Yes, takes time from start to finish but my goodness.....if you want a dozen of them, start with a dozen and complete each one on each step. Doesn't take any longer for 12 to dry than for one or two, right? Have you thought about putting a tiny transfer on some of them? Words or an appropriate floral, etc.? OOOh or maybe someone's name or the the year, and gift them! Good job and thank you for sharing!

I love this finish.. Can I swirl with Mixwax Polyacrylic after the ink dries? I have a large can of it. It is water based

If it's water based then it should be okay... I would try one to be sure it doesn't disturb the ink. I was spraying with light layers to ensure everything stayed where it should so you'll have to test to be sure... definitely make sure that the alcohol ink is dry - though there isn't a long wait time for that... depending upon how much ink you used!

When you call up a video in RU-vid, below it to the left it should show you the name of the video and below that the name of the Channel you are watching. Below that should be a description. Often it's really short with a 'see more' after it. Click that and the rest of the description opens up. I think it's the same positioning for different devices...

Can I use resin on the outside to be more shinning?

If you use the technique where everything is on the inside of the ball then the outside will be shiny from the glass. If you have any of the alcohol on the outside then it definitely needs to be sealed and you can use an acrylic coat or resin if you prefer. Just nothing alcohol based because that would reactivate the inks.

How long between each layer for drying? Because you had a wardrobe change during this video, so just checking. ;)

Ahhh… sometimes the wardrobe changes are deceptive, reflective more of the shop getting busy! That said, I did very light coats so really only had to wait 15 minutes or so. I would spritz, go off and do something, spritz again as I walked by…. I sometimes had longer in between but only because I got busy with something else!

I’m using canned air. Even my dollar store sells this now, for blowing the dust out of your computer keyboards.
