I would’ve went to the junkyard. The budget builder in me would’ve demanded it. Makes me feel just like the hot toddlers of the 50s. Making as much pwr and improvements with as little as possible.
Craig, glad to hear you support the LMR family. I know the gentleman who goes and pulls the sn95 spindles and cleans and preps them for those kits and you are supporting some great people with LMR!!!!
That wheel/tire combo is killer! Fox-body LX with the right combo is an all-time great look. I vote for staying black. Color change can be a pain in the ass.
Just found this channel and I love it man, it gives me drive to keep working on my mustang , I've got a sn195 in peices and I daily a 5 speed 3valve sn197
Those Bullitts just look good on everything! For the brakes I wouldve gotten SN95 spindles, then upgraded to 99-04(?) Cobra brakes up front, and either SN95 or MKVIII rear end. The Cobra front setup is available on RockAuto with rotors, calipers, pads, and I think hoses for like $250.
A lot of people just remove the quad shocks I think on lmr they have a guide that shows if you get them for a foxbody the quad shocks have to be removed
Loving the Foxbody content! Your channel cracks me up because I own a white Galaxie, a black Mustang, a Ford truck, and my dad has the same colored town car!
Looks super good!!! Nice set up. Yeah on my 90’ LX I had 275 toyos on the rear and had to get the fenders trimmed the fronts were 235 and they rubbed if you fully turned it. They were the SVE 10th anniversary wheels.
If you change your gears don't be scared to put 4.10s in it . I got the ford motorsports kit from lmr for my 93 gt. 3000 rpm 80 mph. . 15 mpg rodding. Love em
Your going in all the right direction in my opinion 👍 with the foxbody ! I think if your to paint it a nice charcoal metallic grey ! Or medium silver grey metallic but black is my favourite colour !! Jus keep the videos coming .. I enjoy them all !!
You can tell you live in Cali cuz your stoked. ; ) lol. Cleetus says fire me up, unit and lets go, all the time for his catch phrases. your catch phrase is I'm stoked.
I can't wait until you get the stock hood on the Mustang. Should look real good. I remember these fox body Mustangs, they didn't come with covers for the headlights.
Mimic the bandit....black with gold fox hood decal...super cool. Great wheel combo. you got a lot of work to do to that beater. LOL Anxious to see how it turns out....though I really would like to see the Galaxy running first. LOL Shalom!!
If you use sn95 parts you can upgrade the rear brakes to disc. And I think the front disc are a little bigger. Can't remember for certain, I had a couple foxes back in the day
At 19:33 the car looks so sick, I have the bullit wheels on my notch. Gotta get the 10.5 wide the 9 in wide just isn't doing it for me. I only got the 9 in wide because I also didn't wanna remove the quad shock, but I have since upgraded my rear control arms and just removed the quad shocks. So now I could put the wider ones on.
I’ve replaced wheel studs that way a number of times. Just grease the two nuts first, so they don’t jam together. Plus, I used a 1/2” ratchet to pull the new studs through the hubs. Doing that, I can get new studs fully seated.
CALYPSO GREEN, also ford color so that's cool. Perfect foxbody color, would look great with those rims as well. I'm not sure what tint is legal in CA, but 5% tint and some black housing head and taillights against the green would also look phenomenal.
Jack the back up about an inch and it'll solve that rubbing problem, may also have to put new shocks and possibly springs if it still rubs but it will definitely handle and ride a lot better, keep it black it looks good and you won't have to paint the door/hatch & hood jams
Cut the exhaust at the mufflers and run dumps for the time being. Those look like spintech mufflers. Get some cheap ebay upper and lower rear control arms, bolt in subframe connectors, and get a new clutch cable and quadrant. All super cheap essential mods.
The concerns you raise with the exhaust rubbing have been around since the beginning of the Fox days. I believe those are Spintech mufflers, which have a distinct sound. I'm not sure if you mentioned them or not. You can remove the quad shocks if you install a nice set of upper and lower control arms. I would suggest Maximum Motorsports since they're in California, as well. They make really good stuff. Also, on one of your videos you replace the inner tie rods, but if you still have a dead spot in the steering wheel, check the rag joint. That is a common problem with the Fox cars, as well. Cool car, and great build.
Just turn the quad shocks end for end and they clear no problem. I've got slightly narrower tires but 9 inch wide rims with a bit different back spacing and have not had any rubbing issues whatsoever. My car also has Eibach 2" lowering springs all-around with Tokico gas charged struts and shocks. Enjoy the beast, mine has almost 300 thousand kms (Canada) and starts and runs awesome. 88 gt hatch.
308 is a good option for daily, it leaves open the fact you could run a turbo 350/400/glide etc.. t5 don't mind a 308 either , 8.8's we all know rock 🤘🏼
And for when you keep installing gas tanks and you need a beam to strap it to so it's a bit more manageable for one person,, Daytona and Pittsburgh both sell the beam that is a saddle mount swap for their floor jacks
You can use washers between the rim and the brake drum or disk as a spacer bro. , just food for thought lol , your mustang looks great with those rims you did that car right by putting them rims on their, please keep it black it really looks great and tint the windows
White galaxy, take your Lincoln and offer its good bits to him. That galaxy becomes your daily. Then you can finish.red galaxy to hot rod standards, and polish off the f100. Then paint the fox sonic blue with grey interior. Sell White galaxy when complete to its new loving owner, and still be left with a red white and blue combo....MERCA!
Man, it’s funny how a wheel looks on some cars vs others. I’m honestly kinda over seeing Bullitt wheels on an SN95 but they I think they look super dope on a Fox!
I happen to have a set of flowmaster gt stainless steel tails from a used kit that was on my cousin's 86 mercury Capri gs 302 e303 efi 5spd and the factory 4 lug wheels . I kinda like the dash in the mercury Capri and the 79-86 ford mustang more than the foxbody 87-93 escort based dash you have, and the Capri has a interesting design set of taillights?!
When you do exhaust. 8” Cherry Bomb glass packs. You’ll thank me later. They are dirt cheap. I had a set on a 2004 GT with the stock H-pipe and the cats and it sounded MEAN. Gave it an old school deep rumble.
Which LMR kit is that? the front wheels look like they fit well. Ive seen some kits on there that say anything wider than an 8 in the front will stick out too much
Glasspacks lol, but seriously try some magna flow rumble mufflers or thrush fully welded mufflers would sound great on that car,, but I myself usually run some form of a glasspack muffler..
Just my old school thoughts Craig... There is a dark blue hint in the gray gunmetal in diamond flake... its a color that once you see it on something you scream hell ya. Love those wheels on the fox.... wish I could convince you to go american mags on the galaxy as they are more period correct. I do believe and if you do read this, that whatever color that you pick for that tang, that it be a color that you want on all of the rigs.... kind of a symmetrical thing. I like mags, and one other choice for the galaxy would be chrome reverse with baby moons... the tires are on you to pick. We back in the day bragged about tire choices and used the raised letter in white on serious black tires. No white wall .... reminds me of the bowl over the head haircut. I agree that some moron did that exhaust as even beginners seem to know better. I don't like the idea of the baseball bat between the tire and wheel well to flair it out. I did it when it a big hurry to take some dumb chic out and not have fun with her and screw up my ride... good job, your times worth more than burning fuel to a wrecking yard for maybe axles and used stuff. I hate to make you angry but here in alaska, most every rig has lockers on the rear ends including all those rangers still running around
Look on the drives door and the axle code should be there unless it got removed. The axle code for 3.08 is "Z" and if when ordered new it wasn't specified, they'd put 2.73.s in there and I think that code was an "M" or freeway. I ordered my 89 5.0 Sport LX in the fall of 88 and they wouldn't give me the "X" axle 3.55's due to that was only for police at the time. You'll need to get a WC T5 or another 5 or 6 speed of choice with a 2.95 1st gear if you install 3.55,s or 3.73,s, due to 1st is to low or high numerically. I'm running 3.73,s and they work fine for me.
