Im sure Ill say this a lot over the next few months, but I just booked my first gig as a DP. Im really excited for it. Its a legit movie with $30K budget. Its a small production, but Im really excited. Ive learned a lot from Film Riot and most importantly you guys have kept me motivated over the last 4 years. I consider you guys to be some of my professors of my film school. It means a lot to me and I love you guys!

TrickyFrench People always say that, but Rokinon has a good thing going with their cinema lenses. My 35mm T1.5 is the best lens I own. If I could Id buy the entire collection.

Levi Stutzman I use a 35mm 1.5 too (on my t3i). After seeing comparisons, I realised how close it was with the Canon. But the Canon one costs 4,450 dollars, the Rokinon 450-500 dollars. Rokinon could sell their lens for 1200 dollars considering the quality. It's amazing to have a very good lens for indie filmmakers and for cheap.

TrickyFrench I have the 35mm as well, however I find its a too soft below f2.5. It's build quality isn't up to near the same level as the Canon cinema primes either, but their's your price difference lol.

Ok so, 1. Portal Combat was awesome and 2. I genuinely missed the Film Riot crew... The epic summer was great and the directors all had great talent and wisdom to share, but I found myself so refreshed when I saw Ryan's face back on the screen. Keep up the great work guys, I look forward to the episodes to come!

Thank you so much Ryan! You just introduced me to HitFilm 3 Express! I use after effects but because of my graphics card it often bugs out and I lose a lot of project files, but so far I'm in LOVE with hitFilm 3. I'm still learning it, but I can already tell i'm going to be happy with it. I won't be getting rid of After Effects, because I'm sure there will be things I need to do that HitFilm won't be able to do, but either way thank you so much! :D

I say you guys did a fantastic job. Brings back memories of shooting films with my older brother and friends. Always was a blast trying to beat the sun or extra annoying ambient sounds during the primary scenes. I wish my brother was still alive to see this. He would've loved it!

Ryan, the sight lines for Emily, Josh, and Todd were all the same in their conversation during the money exchange. Isn't that breaking the 180 degree rule since they all looked towards the left while speaking even when you cut back and forth? The film was a lot of fun. Great stuff. Very exciting. Great visuals. Did you do all of it in Hit film because most of the vfx were pretty great. I hope to see more films like this. I'm happy for you that you're putting more of these out alongside the show.
