@@lokithecat7225 Aww, just a joke. I mean they're doing pretty well for themselves, and they make a good product (I love the pencil dice vault combo I got last Christmas). You put any piece of wood working they've made in front of me I'd be a happy camper....sandwiches not so much.

Which only makes me wonder if there's an option to increase the heat of the press to sufficient levels to get that browning/grilling effect while still getting the pressing that distinguishes a panini from a simple grilled cheese.

Because the heat source is hot water, I believe would be impossible to heat the bed past ~100 C.

@@balzac_jones There are ways to superheat water, but it's not likely that machine is capable of it. I think it involves pressure, but it's been too long since I studied such topics.

@@Cuuniyevo to get certified to take kids into the woods for the scouts, you have to learn a bunch of traditional camping cooking. 1 is cooking biscuits on sticks. Then you get to see the lazy ones not bother to clean their sticks. Often just breaking a branch off inspite of being told to find one already down. You learn quick to snatch the poisonous mistletoe (etc), but let them find out that bark will stick to baking dough, inside & out, and that green oak leaves make them taste funky.

@@Cuuniyevo a nice, thick pole works easiest for the biscuits, but guess who gets to haul those into the back woods. :) Baking isn't too bad. Dutch ovens can bake up all kinds of cobblers, cakes, & breads. Especially when you start dropping smaller pans inside. Baking next to the fire works but it takes timing to turn things. Knew someone who would do hearty breads like focaccia or whatever in a couple layers of foil, too. He built a backyard brick pizza oven, so he had plenty of practice.
