Making Spore Prints | Propagating Oyster Mushrooms PART 1 

Some people will the cap sit about a hour on foil and then put tbe caps on fresh foil cover and then sit 12-24hrs. The first step is to help het rid of the superficial spores that may have contamination.

I've always been scared to do mushrooms due to contamination potential but it is really nice to watch your success with them. Got too much going on right now to risk them at the moment but your videos are giving me confidence to attempt it at some point. I do love mushrooms yum.

Looking forward to this little series. We've grown them in the past, but only with kits.

Can you do this with pearl oyster mushrooms that I picked in the woods?

So how long to wait for the foil to cool down before placing caps but with minimal contamination?

Why tin foil and not aluminum? Where do you buy tin foil?

Spor prints on paper are recommended for identification purposes. The idea seems to have crossed over. I've only seen printing for reproduction done on glass. I like the Aluminium foi idea. Have you thought about cloning?

Paul Stamets would have laughed his ass off. It's good to see oyster mushroom can be propagated by spore prints. This extreme measure is silly after watching dozens of sites. The kids needs to take a basic biology class. Sigh...
