What I wouldn't give to sit across from my beloved mother at a restaurant, just one more time. To hear her complaining about the food, my life, the waiter, her sugar being too low (giving her a peppermint), asking when am I getting married (I'm married now, mama) & my weight😂. This is all before the food comes. She would then proceed to pray for me and the waiter. Thanks for the wonderful memories. God bless you abundantly, EJ!

I’m a 64-y-o white lady and I love this to a degree I don’t understand. Maybe it’s EJ’s remarkable, awesome (the true sense of the word) talent. Maybe it’s that this is a scarily close aproximation of my mom, plus humor and minus my mom’s seriously judgmental side. Maybe it’s the wig. Whatever it is, I’m sincerely grateful for the laughs while I’m going through a tough time. This is glorious!

My mom's parents were like this, very adverse to change! They only patroned local restaurants, and my grandpa wouldn't touch any "exotic" cuisine including basic Americanized food like pizza or tacos! He only liked southern food. NGL i kinda love that about them now.. because when I'm driving to see my living relatives, i see billboards and signs for my grandpa's old favorite restaurants. And i think about the times we went together. Unfortunately I lost my moms parents way too young, my granny at 14 and grandpa at 20. I'm 36 and still think about them every day. It kills me thinking my granny's been gone longer than i had her. I'd give anything to have her embarrass me in a restaurant now.

This is my mom, rest her soul. At the restaurant complaining about everything, demanding all the attention of the waitress, asking all kinds of personal questions And would not tip, even when she visited where I worked as waitress. She said waitress got paid by the boss/owner, she was NOT tipping.

My mom called over the server and politely explained how it should be made. The server apologized. Needless to say, we weren't charged for our meals. I was shocked!😮

This was hilarious & reminded me of my mom. My mom would always complain if she felt the food was rushed. If an appetizer was ordered & then 5 minutes later the entree was served while still eating the appetizer, she would get so pissed. Her commentary on people watching was legendary. Lol, RIP, mom.
