It's simple Yankee boy, it's recognition and as a sidenote, your buddy I biden has cost me my retirement pension. I had stock in the oil industry until pedo joe stepped in. Now I'm homeless and broke, are you happy now?.
@@cajunmandickdick1849 holy shit i feel like theres a lot of deleted comments, but maybe you should stop blaming your failed investments on others and pull yourself up by your bootstraps. shouldnt rely on others to keep you afloat, thats socialism.
No it is not. Nobody knows who actually wrote this song. Everyone thinks it's from the movie "Brother where art thou "It's still Dan Traminski (Allison Kraus and Union Station)singing in the movie
+1manuscriptman Yup. They's born to it from day one. Harmony is in their blood, and they sing it faster than blues because they are smart people. They escaped England in the Cavalier era. They weren't peasants with no culture. They were noblemen down on their luck. Music is a rich man's amusement. They may not be rich in lucre, but they are rich in culture. This is merely exhibit one.
I had the pleasure of attending one of their live concerts. Blue grass is the purest and uncluttered type of music and this group of talented artists are by far the best.
Anthony Gibbs you should like bluegrass and the banjo many people dont know but the banjo was made by african americans and bill monroe the father of bluegrass in kentucky was a huge fan of blues which he learned alot from african americans
What? No pyrotechnics? No autotune? Are we supposed to just enjoy their pure talent? Hellllllll, YES!!! Talent beats production, every time. AKUS 4Ever!
This never, EVER gets old! Clooney's chicken dance during the bridge is howlingly funny. 'But Pappy.....they's INTEGRATED!" Hallulujah for that!! Play on!!
Superb musicians, every one of them. And I love the fact that Alison Krauss, who probably has the most beautiful singing voice any woman has ever had, is content just to play second fiddle here (so to speak) and let someone else do the singing. And, man, it turns out she's pretty damn good with the fiddle too!
I was thinking the same thing. Like when Steve Gaines joined Skynyrd. Ronnie let him sing a few songs, even sang a duet with him. What's good for the band. Rock on!!!
Lyrics: (In constant sorrow all through his day) I am a man of constant sorrow, I've seen trouble all my day I bid farewell to old Kentucky, The place where I was born and raised (The place where he was born and raised) ~Slide guitar solo~ For six long years I've been in trouble, No pleasures here on earth I found For in this world I'm bound to ramble, I have no friends to help me now (He has no friends to help him now) ~Steel Banjo solo~ It's fare thee well my old lover I never expect to see you again For I'm bound to ride that northern railroad, Perhaps I'll die upon this train (Perhaps he'll die upon this train) ~ Violin solo ~ You can bury me in some deep valley, For many years where I may lay Then you may learn to love another, While I am sleeping in my grave (While he is sleeping in his grave) ~ Slide Guitar solo ~ Maybe your friends think I'm just a stranger My face, you'll never see no more But there is one promise that is given I'll meet you on God's golden shore (He'll meet you on God's golden shore)
I'm a rock and roll /metal music lover. have always been along with Spanish artists from different parts of the world that I grew up listening to . I never really liked country nor bluegrass until I watched the movie, and I got to say, it gave me a whole new understanding of bluegrass music. that whole soundtrack is absolutely one of the best I've ever heard and it definitely opened my ears to all of the beautiful sounds and different music genres out there that still need to be heard.
Dan Tyminski's got that pure country tenor that I've loved ever since I was a little boy. It's one of the things that's kept me into country and bluegrass all these years -- that vocal style. It just does it for me; what can I say? BTW, he and Jerry Douglass do a killer version of this song on The Transatlantic Sessions, the BBC series that aired in the US on PBS a while back. DVD's are available. I recommend them.
During an interview on the Actor's Studio, George Clooney said he actually recorded this song in his own voice and thought he did a really good job with it until he asked the techs in the recording booth, who all shook their heads (sorrowfully) and then played this version for him.
He could have done like Tom Cruise did, he took voice lessons and practiced for hours every day for months. He did a version of Dead or Alive that, I though, rivaled the origional!
I truly am a man of Constant Sorrow i came up very poor my wife fell back in 2004 and got nerveillogical brain damage I lost my job and had three kids at the time and became homeless overnight but I made it but life has been so tuff on me but I'll never give up things are better now who nos what the future holds for me please pray for me a man of constant sorrow.

You don’t need to be black, white, pink, orange or yellow to enjoy and appreciate this song. It’s just a great song means a lot to everybody who listens to it.
There is an incomparable band that is awesome! Allison Krauss on fiddle, Jerry Douglas on dobro, and the rest of the gang is absolute perfection! Kudos to you Lothar236. Fantastic recording!
It's Union Station. I did see Dan with the Soggy Bottom Boys on Cayamo music cruise Feb 2020, just before the pandemic. Here's he's sitting in with Alison's band.
The hook in this song makes it physically impossible not to like it. And don't be surprised if your feet start tapping to the rhythm without bein' told to neither.
it defies category..it is edgy with some expressive singing that has blues embellishments..and a beat that is like an engine..with bluesy dobro and hot fiddle, steady rolling banjo , and call and answer chorus like early rock. sound like rock and roll?..no wonder you : "love this song"

How my beloved Father loved this music. I know your looking down from heaven and smiling Daddy. I miss and love you more than you will ever know. Always and forever Daddy.
