Gotta say, I may have teared up a little watching this. I stumbled onto your original Mansions of Madness series shortly after you started it (I think you were on the second or third episode) - and that's what got me into board gaming. I had no idea this hobby even existed before hand, and now it's my favorite hobby and helped me make some very close friends over the years. So, thank you, Rodney. You can be sure I'll be watching this, and for as long as you keep making videos.

i love the return of the old set! to be honest, the first time i saw your mansions playthrough, i thought "oh my god, this setting is genious for a game like this!"... and later learned it wasn't quite by choice... can't wait for this one! ^_^

If I wasn't also going to be shooting other things during that time, it would be possible to keep this look, but the show must go on! (and tearing down the set and resetting each time would be a little too much :) )

haha, the memories~! It's hard to believe it's been five years since the first MoM gameplay. Time flies, but I'm glad Watch It Played is still going strong and hope that your family is health and happy. Keep up the amazing walk-through videos~! P.S - In case you don't remember since it's been a long while, I was the winner of the Summoner Wars contest back in 2012 and I still enjoy playing that game with my friends~

I recognized the location of your first MoM videos right away - nice touch. Personally, I'd love to see you do your playthrough with the same backdrop, but understand why you'd want to bring the production values up to current standards. Still, a great nod to those of us that remember your first videos on MoM. Really looking forward to this playthrough now that I've completed this particular scenario; it will be spoiler free for me :D.

I was a fan back in the Wrath of Ashardalon days but then got busy and couldn't watch after the first twenty seasons. I'm back now though and after watching the 'How to Play' video and knowing for sure you guys were gonna do a play through, I thought, "He better do that cheesy intro again with the signature brown hoodie!". You didn't disappoint.

I really love your videos about how to play games, and also the ones that you actually play game with others. What id like to see is some short clips about your opinion about games you play (are they fun to play, difficulty level etc.) and how your co-players (family or Pep) view them. Nevertheless fantastic channel, good job! ps. i write this comment here because its the latest video ;)

Glad you're enjoying the videos :) Offering opinions is something I really avoid in my videos. What I like, and why I like it, is very biased and personal. I'd rather leave my opinions out of why people might be interested in a game, and just let them decide from what they see. I always figure you're the best judge of what you like :)

This is so cool, I remember that first video!! I discovered you just a bit after in 2012 with the Small World videos :) I can't believe it's already been so long my god I literally saw your kids grow up in front of me hahaha!! my vote is for Agatha Crane and Preston Fairmont. aside from the 2 of them having opposing stats, i think that our good friend Harvey Walter could have a love interest in Agatha. and Prestons ability is too good to pass up

Really excited for this one, the original Mansions was such a good game, but so many flaws at the same time, I've picked a copy of this one, but haven't even opened it up yet. My vote is for Agatha Crane, lots of story potential with all the characters, I mean, William the Gravedigger, exactly the person you want exposing with you, knows all the good spots to hide the body ;) But Agatha kind of sticks with me for this one.

Why the heck is William so popular? The name of the game isn't "kill the monsters". I think Rita could serve the role of "fighter" for the team better than he can. She's more resistant to physical attacks, and has higher agility AND strength than him, and her ability allows her to go where she's needed. All William has going for him is extra clue tokens and average stats.

That's the best part of including so many characters in the box, each player can pick the ones they want the most. What appeals to you, might not appeal to someone else. Sometimes the reason isn't even which character is "best", it's just which character a person likes the idea of.

So you can't just include a 1st edition investigator without also including all of the 1st edition monsters? That's a shame. I suppose FFG could choose to update the app to allow it, if there's enough public support for it.

Right - when you pick a 1st edition element to add in, then all the components from that base game or expansion get mixed in.
