Thanks for the video. I was going to say your voice sounds back to normal. The only thing that I was optimistic about when they brought back smokeyard was the ability to throw eggs in SP3. I also noticed how you were able to foreshadow your masterclass in destroying flyfish with an explosher. 👍

Your gameplay is absolutely insane! I was wondering how some teammates were able to splat 20, 30+ bosses every game when I hit 999, this is probably what it looks like, hahahaha! I'll be ready for this stage next time. Awesome video!

And I'm such a nerd for geeking out over a made-up language. 😂 Literally just yesterday, as I was waiting for a match, I was trying to find the correct orientation to read the words on the floor in the lobby. I was deciphering which letter could correspond to our English ones. I don't remember seeing anybody really talk about or use the Splatoon alphabet characters. In Splatoon 2, I thought it was funny that the hat store was named "Headspace" and the storefront read "INFJ/INFP" in squid language. I thought, "somebody on the dev team has a real sense of humor to sneak that in." As an INFJ, I already know I'm always in my head/headspace. I don't need Nintendo roasting me about it. 😅 Thanks for your expert input on this map that's so ill-fitted for Splat3. And mad props on the thumbnail.

This was SO helpful and really prepared me to level up my game on the most recent rotation on this map. I was definitely painting walls at every opportunity! Thank you for all of it, especially the tips on Grillers and Glowflies. That made a big difference!

Great guide! The stage-specific ones are really interesting. An overfishers guide to stages would be cool as well!💜

On high tide the spinners are a good way to pull the glowfly horde away from the basket area to collect eggs and regroup assuming the person kiting the horde doesn't get killed doing so. My first time on smokeyard in S2 I played a rush wave where that was the strategy my teammates used

Great tips. This map of Splatoon 2 into 3 is nuch easier than spawning grounds and marooner's bay. I always paint walls every wave 1. I managed to get to 999 when Salmon Smokeyard appeared in the 2nd rotation. It is a lot harder in high tides than any other tide, hardest to do max hazard level, including king salmon fights too. Also beware of checkpoints too on stages on bronze or higher will get to a checkpoint.

Really nice guide! Honestly i've come to like this map in 3 alot more than 2, partly due to me just being better in this game but I do feel like egg throws and the new movement tech in this game really have made this map feel alot better overall (Despite it obviously not being designed for 3's bosses n such lol). Also the specials are really good on this map compared to 2 where it really felt like it was only inkjet that did something, really does make it less of a drag when nothing but an army of flyfish and stingers decide to spawn on the far islands (Main reason why I hated this map before) Also really sick Crab shot on the stick had to mention that lmao

Man I remember in 2 when in Smokeyard this was the first time I ever got to Hazard Max, needless to say I was kinda of dead weight and got carried, I hope to god they never bring lost outpost to 3 that sounds like hell. Great video by the way High Tide on hazard 250%+ was kicking my teeth in I wonder if someday whenever you get the relevant clips a video on different jumps and movement tricks on maps I think could be really useful for newer players, can't tell you how many times some of the jumps on high tide spawning grounds have saved me.

This is sooo helpful

Coming back to this after some more Salmonid Smokeyard maps, and I think i've spotted one particular issue that makes high tide so dificult. Specifically that there's a spawn point that causes salmonids to spawn from all three entry paths on the basket island. It makes it impossible not to get surrounded and focus on one path since salmonids will always be behind you. For most maps with a spawn point with multiple spawns, the pathing makes it so that the salmonids will generally follow a single path. And for high tide, they'll just come from one singular path anyway. But Smokeyard just has to be different I guess.
