Regarding Washington State and Washington DC: The people in the northwest wanted to name the state Columbia, after the river. When looking at the map of europe it becomes quite cleare quite quick, that no timetravel can be involved, because there is no way in hell that the western-germany bordergore blob is simply called Westen (obviously translates to "West"). 1:56 Ecuatorial Guinea and Weatern Sahara, were provinces of Spain and they had the exact same status as the peninsular territories. Also the people were in the local goverment and the programs of integration was a common thing. That map is wrong because isnt like Spain changed all its historical behaviour in one decade lol, even in a fictional world. Also Spain wasnt fascist in the cold war, was a military dictatorship alignated with USA.
