I have this watch and It made me realise I've been wearing big watches that are uncomfortable for too many years, it's perfect (I've owned the CSAR, GSAR and JDD before now) Also, i think It looks amazing on your wrist, better than It does on my own even and we the same size. Did not like It at first but make yourself wear It for three+ days and I started to feel a bit silly for wearing the monster size watches I have all these years, literally sold my Gen1 Oranage monster when this came.

I've got a 7 inch wrist but went for this 36mm. Looks awesome, especially in white. Personally prefer the look of a lug to lug around 45mm even though I know my wrist can get away with much bigger.

Always love a quartz piece for which the seconds hand actually hits the markers.

Arctic is likely not only because of the white of snow, but also because white is the most legible face to read in an area with heavy snow (Arctic, Antartica, etc). Stunning piece at a reasonable price.

Apart from the fact that Marathon produces great watch I've never seen any photo of military forces wearing Marathons. Mostly Casio G-Shock DWs

Torque yes please. I read that the GS 9 f quartz movement has so much of that torque the seconds hands are pretty dense to soak it up! That's one mother of a stepper motor? That watch is pretty cool also.Cheers.GG

Marathons are a cross between a watch and a hockey puck. NASA used them for their search and rescue divers. Enjoy my old TSAR. Worth every penny.

800-900 for Quartz? I don't see it, sorry. I would rather have the automatic which I think is not much more. I do like the size and the colors they chose. Do you know if they even make this model in an automatic? This is one of those watch brands I have heard of but very little knowledge. I do appreciate you taking the time to make the video. I see a far better value in the watches you designed that take Seiko SKX parts. I would probably get one if you ever get them a little smaller. I think you said you had plans for those as well. OK, let's talk a bit about "military issue". First off, if you're one of those combat arms soldiers, sailors, or Marines that really, really has a need for one you're never going to be issued one. Why? Simple. It's not in the TOE or the "Table of Organization and Equipment", not even in modified form aka "MTOE" when getting ready to deploy. Why not? Again, simple. Budget. Money. Funding. Why spend money on watches when that money can be spent on FUEL or FOOD for your soldiers? Not to mention that shiny watches with white faces are not going to work well when you're out on a movement-to-contact trying to find the enemy before he finds you. Why, if the SGM or 1SG finds you running around with that shiny watch on your wrist he's going to put boot to ass and make you put it in your pocket or leave it at home. You see someone wearing a watch like this in uniform, you know they're probably not combat arms and do a lot of "desk diving". There's a reason why U.S. military PX/BXs across the planet stock a lot of black G-Shocks and sell them *all* right before a deployment or field exercise. Next, let's talk about "meeting military specifications". Did you know that as long as you can prove to the U.S. government that a watch you make and sell meets the current military specs for a watch that you can request it be listed in the GSA catalog and be issued a GSN (Government Stock Number) for it even if not one single watch is ever purchased for the government? The U.K. does this a lot whereas Uncle Sam tends to be a little more traditional which is why very, very few watchmakers have a U.S. GSA stock number. Marathon's been doing this for decades though, which is why they continue to mark their watches with it and during Desert Storm they did sell a lot of watches to the DoD and some of them even got issued to units on the front lines. Sorry, Marathon, but an M1-Series tank will absolutely *destroy* every watch model in your entire catalog within a year on deployment whereas it will just scratch up a G-Shock. That being said, it's a fine watch for ordinary folks doing ordinary things, maybe even a little recreational diving.
