Great video! I just got back from a hike east of Seattle, looking for mushrooms, but I didn’t find too many. Saw a few Alpine jelly cone, Fairy parachute, some old Turkey tails, and some old yellow-brown turkey tail look-a likes, and some Red banded conks. I don’t know how you experts do it, spotting all those other types. Thanks for the inspiration, I learn a lot from your videos!

Thanks! That still sounds like an awesome hike - I never get tired of looking at Alpine Jelly Cones and Fairy Parachutes! So glad that you're enjoying the videos, and I really appreciate you tuning in! With Spring just around the corner I bet that we're going to be finding all kinds of great mushrooms out in the forests of Western WA ... so keep looking! And Happy Trails!

Wow, the Red Belted Conk and the False Turkey Tail were beautiful, weren't they? I just don't see mushrooms like that where I roam. I'm considering packing up and moving to Washington State! 😉It's a little paradise, apparently.

We use them for cancer patients amazing results. check out ""Otzi the iceman"" he wore a birch polypore necklace 5000 years ago to keep him healthy I wear mine daily @@MushroomTrail

Cool! I have been totally fascinated by the story of Otzi for years - such an incredible archaeological gift ... and so cool to be able to verify that humans have been working with mushrooms for over 5,000 years! The Birch Polypore has an incredible range of uses, from fire making & ember keeping, to knife sharpening, to a very wide range of medicinal uses. I remember reading that archaeologists believe that he may have been using birch polypore to treat a parasite that they found in his intestinal tract. Interesting stuff!

Do those yellow jellies tast like cany more dipped in citric acid and sugar?, just ,a crazy thought.
@MushroomTrail
@MushroomTrail 5 месяцев назад
I haven't tried to sweeten the Alpine Jelly Cone, but I would imagine that citrus juice (or citric acid) and a little sugar would definitely sweeten them up nicely😀
