Margaret Thatcher highlights with George Bush & Michail Gorbachev "State Of The World Forum" 1995

This 1995 CNN special presentation from the Masonic Hall in San Francisco of "State Of The World Forum" contains mainly Prime Minister Margaret Thatchers entertaining highlights, which is slightly annoying since you would like to hear what both President George H. W. Bush and President Michail Gorbachev also had to say. You do hear all of them a bit, but this old video recording focuses on Margaret Thatchers very amusing "iron lady" moments.

Totally agree! Miss her terribly. I am 36, but I remember her fondly and admired her nerve. Never have we had and never will we have a PM like her. Our country is in a mess for multiple reasons, all of which, I am convinced would not exsist if she was head of the table.

She was a woman with vigorous convictions, stand up principles, and a huge, unbreakable strength. And she remained true to what she was and uncorrupted, till the end. This is a rare way of making politics today. I wish to live in the UK rather than in Portugal, were there are no Prime Ministers with such a quality.

@david1972a - I know it is annoying that Mr. Gorbachev and Bush is edited out - or rather Margaret Thatcher is the only one taped for entertainment reasons obviously, which today so many years later is irritating as one would have loved to have heard the ping pong between the 3. But this is a recording directly from CNN in 1995. So I thought instead of not uploading this, it was better to do it with whatever was on this old VHS tape.

Great upload. This is the same forum which featured a symposium of global oligarchs and leaders to discuss the future of labor and business. The term "20/80" or "one-fifth" society was bandied about, a prediction and a GOAL of the power elite. The terms allude to the fact that with technologic advancements we will soon only need 1/5 of the population to do all the work necessary to do the meaningful labor necessary for the global industrial output. The other 80% will represent a new "useless" class who will either "have lunch or be lunch" by hustling to do gig-based task work for the 20%. They will be pacified through "tittytainment", a term used by Zbigniew Brzezinski. His definition of the term was a nurturing combination of nutritionless junk food, artless but endless entertainment and other profitable but trivial ways for the elite to profit off of the elimination of the single largest revolutionary threat to power. The term is not meant in any sense of sexual innuendo, Brzezinski meant the term to represent a sense of nurturing and pacification like that of a mother's bosom to a newborn child. Flaming Hot Cheetos and the MCU are the milk that will keep all the infants from crying too much. What a wonderful world.

Ms. Thatcher was the World Police in 1979 and during the 1980's, as the Russians labeled her "Iron Lady", and feared her. She is very, very intelligent, very acquainted with past leaders/experience (Golda Mier, Winston Churchill, many, many World Leaders of past, and present) and made it a point to be a learner, keep learning, question theories, and make strong points to help as well. She is also an anti-terrorist, anti-bullier, etc. She stands by running things with modern technology, but with the general right/wrong analytical points. She never feared to stand what logically would be proven right. Sad she is not here now with the Iran situation problem again, as she jumped to get it under control in 1979, when Carter went passive. Great Conservative/Republic leader.

Yes, She is correct with the United Nations, that institution was founded to handle certain situations and was not meant for many others that some leaders have tried to use it for, as she stated!! Big mistakes have occurred here, especially with the Bosnian and Herzegovina War.

Gorbachev listens to translations and knows Thatcher is correct, but does not like to argue, as with his mistakes over Chernobyl incident was embarrassed when dealing with Thatcher about the radiation poisoning that escaped the region into Germany, Ukraine, Belarus, Greece, and other Nato nations, which costed much money. Thatcher was outraged over the handling of that incident and failed early warnings, especially to children, pregnant women, seniors, etc...

George tries to make USA is World Police, but before 1950's, the UK was the World Police as it had it's former Empire, with many former territories and the World Currency as well. *See Churchill for more information.

Her foreign policy was next to nothing. She was incredible! Her domestic policies however were much to be desired. I have this begrudging respect for Thatcher because she emulated what most of the Western world believed. However, I do blame her for the ills that the United Kingdom is currently experiencing.

You blame her ? After we had 12 years of New Labour and the a further 14 years of New Labour Lite? The REAL Tories left office in 1997 and haven't been back since . I can't wait to see the destruction of Cameron , May, Johnson and Sunaks 'Social Democrats Party' that's been running the country since 2010 .

Oh, and Bush use to work for CIA, so does not take others too seriously, but Thatcher keeps her tone with him, to make sure he listens to her. She remembers where he started, and he had less than her for foundationals than she (Thatcher), who went to Cambridge for Chemistry, I believe.

I learn my grammar in English schools, not in American school ... let us not forget that the language is still English and not American. If you don't know how to speak English correctly then that's not my problem. I was born in 1953 so I did indeed live right through that period and unlike you know exactly what I am talking about.

Poor George was just a completely different style of man. His only political gift was a mushy reasonableness that was impossible to hate or find objectionable. Margaret and Reagan specialized in explaing free enterprise and the Western democratic system as forces for good. Bush just didn't have this in him, and Margaret couldn't help but speed past him arrogantly. In truth this was bad since she was undoubtedly the junior, junior partner to the USA.
