she looks so much younger minus her makeup, and actually her beauty is far more evident. she's very pretty, rather than merely glamorous. the mask heavy of makeup she usually wears actually does her beauty no favours - looking at her in the buff, so to speak. "not every women is beautiful, but every women can be glamorous"
To me, in the round, so to speak, is lady thatcher speaking against communism aka socialism. Even in this interview, and particularly apparent today, is the rampant socialism. The ironic lies in the fight against communism by democratic countries. Communism doesn’t work in reality. Socialism, however, is the by product of democratic wealth. People feel guilty for what they have, they want others to be less burdened. $ doesn’t buy happiness. Happiness doesn’t buy wealth. Anyone reading this should know that we have lived in many ways “better” than billions of us humans before us. Yet we bitch anyways. Life is relative. To me self actualization and realization what superficial and not are keys to life. There are many people, too many, that play down themselves when they should hand their heads high.
She is correct. Even using the term Thatcherism is really meant as a slight. Margaret is peaking to something far more fundamental. Principals. Principals are not the whim of immediacy. They are not the whim of consensus. Today’s world is and is becoming a clash of democracies v authoritarianism. One could argue that with a leader who is principled authoritarianism would work. Why? It’s not the process that counts it’s the outcome. Democracies can be stagnant unless there are guiding principles. Consensus in and of itself is not the solution. All of us are drawn by strong figures. Often time the “strong” are just those that are able to or motivated to hide weaknesses better than others. Democracies guard against the tyranny of power. Authoritarianism seems to have the ability of extreme spikes. Over time it may even out. It may not. The deciding factor is the very basics of humanity. Human beings tend to not be able to handle power. They tend to abuse. Tho they try, abuse of power is unnaturally natural. Democracies stifle that to some degree. Term limits. Changes occur because people change.
Her foreign policy was next to nothing. She was incredible! Her domestic policies however were much to be desired. I have this begrudging respect for Thatcher because she emulated what most of the Western world believed. However, I do blame her for the ills that the United Kingdom is currently experiencing.
You blame her ? After we had 12 years of New Labour and the a further 14 years of New Labour Lite? The REAL Tories left office in 1997 and haven't been back since . I can't wait to see the destruction of Cameron , May, Johnson and Sunaks 'Social Democrats Party' that's been running the country since 2010 .
