Lady Thatcher was the last of the greatest British Prime Ministers. I like how she was strong, stood her ground, spoke her mind, but I liked that she was very much involved with American politics as well. If you watch above, she talks about famous American politicians from the Republican and Democrat parties. I think if Thatcher had to deal with America nowadays, she would be disgusted with the jerks we have in office nowadays!
Larry King and Margaret Thatcher talking about Bosnia. Now is Piers Morgan talking with George Clooney about Sudan or talking with Sean Penn about Haiti. Oh my God! I miss the 90's
It is not a bad example. What I'm trying to imply is this: In the 90's you had a great politician talking about international affairs with a good journalist like Larry King, now you have celebrities talking about international affairs with a reality show judge.
i remember the 1970s when the unions held the goverment to ransome inflation was running at 28 per cent everybody was on strike those coal pits and steelworks had to close they were running up huge losses maggie took on the unions and won under the right to buy maggie gave working class people to own there home a lot of working class people made a lot of money during her regime
I understand that mate, just you're comparing apples and pears mate it just doesn't work very well. Piers Morgan really shouldn't be allowed on TV at all but hey that's not going to happen. As for Sean Penn a very good actor and very intelligent but that's where it ends he has had NO political involvement at a professional level whatsoever, good political debates do still exists just today you have to look so much harder to find it, so my advice would be to look elsewhere when Piers is on TV!
imagine - her saying the UK has the greatest historical love of liberty! she lost me there. sorry, modern day UK maybe but historically? the worst lover of liberty it would seem. unless that liberty is one imposed by the UK. that kind of liberty, sure.
