“It wasn’t that Markeith Loyd lost control that night,” Ridgway said. "It’s that he lost control of Sade Dixon. She wasn’t going to do what he wanted her to do - accept his lifestyle, accept his rules.”

“You are the rockstar of our profession” I’m sorry what? He stomped around that courtroom like a toddler knowing there was zero chance of winning this case. The disrespect to the judge, prosecutor’s, witnesses and even jurors was absolutely mind blowing. Yes everybody deserves a defense, with that said, a defense attorney does not have to disrespect everybody in the quart room to make that defense happen! Just a little reminder his own client complained about his strategy and closing argument…. Rockstar 😤

The treatment this defendant received from more than 20 (an estimate after seeing the footage) policemen makes the "innocent until proven guilty" mantra absolute malarkey. Yes he murdered but for people who swear to uphold the law, protect and serve, for them to beat this man to such an extent that he loses his eye?? That goes beyond the pale imo. For citizens and politicians and judicial systems to do nothing to rein in this kind of behaviour just condones and allows it to continue. It becomes the acceptable norm. And before you all lambast me for my opinion, what if you're next, or your sons, your fathers, a family member? Who's to say when the goalposts will be moved to include people of all races? Condonation = acceptance = the new normal.

Renee Lane We really don’t know exactly what actually took place after he had barricaded himself at that home. I doubt he actually listened to the commands being given as was evident with his prior confrontations with LE, and now we have a seasoned police officer dead because of his actions. Remember, as far as LE was concerned, this guy was armed and dangerous and had already disposed of a pregnant girlfriend and the one mentioned above. I don’t know where you’d been but police don’t take kindly when one of their own is gunned down. This guy was lucky to be alive, usually manhunts end up with the one being hunted down in a body bag. I’m not condoning police brutality and as I stated earlier, we just don’t have all of the facts to make a rational decision once way or another.
