1) it's Wrecker, not wrecking crew 2) spiral is a she. X-Men villain, who worked with the X-men on one mission but is still evil. 3) Hobgoblin has his glider, NOT a surf board thing 4) Tigra is probably o expensive not just because of the Nemesis piece but because its the only version we have ever gotten of the character
Pretty sure Stryfe and the Storm on your list were Toys R Us exclusives and were very hard to find, which might answer your question about Stryfe's value.
I was so lucky driving home after party one morning and figuring “eh, toys r us just opened and would be a nice place to vomit” boom full wave fresh from the box.
One of the things that helped me back in the day was Marvel published a series called the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe, sort of the precursors to the modern online Marvel wiki. My friends and I would eagerly wait for each issue. At the end of the run (18 I think) you could open them and lay them next to each other in the floor. The characters were running from left to right with the more prominent characters like Cap, Hulk and Spider Man in the front.
@@kennethmalone4689 Marvel just released the Handbook to the Marvel Universe in omnibus form. I can't wait to get it. I have all the old issues but they might fall apart in my hand because they were read so much.
@@justinfive4206 I started collecting those with issue #3. I found #1 but it almost took until the end of the run for me to find #2. I think that's the one with Captain America. I was a pretty young then, it was before the internet and none of my local comic shops ever had it as a back issue. I finally came across someone selling it. Those profiles are so.mucj better that DC's Who's Who and they served as an inspiration for me to create my own characters. Of course, since I was so young you can look at a lot of them and go, "Hey, that's just an Iron Man." That maybe true but he's my character. I've added stuff and nobody can take that away. Lol
The thing about Gladiator is that he isn’t rare because of the character, he’s rare because of the Apocalypse BAF piece he comes with. You can get the figure by himself loose for around 20-30 bucks, but if you want him with the apocalypse head or just the BAF piece by itself, that’ll set you back 85-100 dollars!!
He's actually reffing to the one that came out in the Thanos Imperative SDCC Exclusive box set. Not much of a difference between the 2...but the fact that he was fetching a hefty price is what pushed Hasbro to reissue him in the Apocalypse BAF wave. Dude would have known if he did some research.
@@andrewsnyder3660 No he specifically specified the version from the Apocalypse BAF. But you’re not wrong, really it could apply to either one as both are quite rare.
@@emiliopena4542 well the problem is with his research. Most of the figures on this list you can/could find for half the price. I've been out of the Legends game for about 2 years but this dude is wrong or just out way off point.
I actually have the Spiral figure and didn't know she was that valuable. She's a supervillain that serves as a bodyguard for Mojo, a demented and disgusting alien that forces others to compete in a television gladiator show on his planet for his amusement. Spiral can teleport, an expert hand to hand fighter, and has cybernetic limbs. She helped the X Men escape from Mojo, but only because she was in love with Longshot, one of Mojo's most popular gladiators, who assisted the X Men in Mojo's "games". She never joined the X Men, but she redeemed herself in the end of that storyline. She's more of a tragic character than a full blown supervillain
The wrecking crew figure is actually called the Wrecker , a major Thor foe who is the leader of the Wrecking Crew consisting of Thunderball , Piledriver and Bulldozer . The figures by themselves are expensive to get as well as trying to get the entire team .
I agree. All they need to do is give him a more cartoon style head and it's an easy sell. Hobgoblin is one of the few times where I think the ToyBiz version is better and holds up.
Yup. I have zero. LOL. I remember seeing TONS of Rogue figures in different stores. Wish I grabbed one or two. I had Hobgoblin in my hand before putting him back! Been regretting that since the day I left him.
He also called Arnim Zola "Armin Zola" and The Wrecker "Wrecking Crew." But give him a break, he says right in the video he's had a lot of head injuries. That's probably why there are still multiple store exclusives on the list after he says he removed all the store exclusives.
Superior venom, rogue, hobgoblin, chameleon and, gladiator, and also the other half of the wrecking crew piledriver, bulldozer. Hopefully we can get the "Amazon 4pack exclusive" 🤣 if any exclusive hope it goes there, its easier to pre-order.
I'm amused that the Most Valuable Hasbro figures are...... generally underwhelming and crappy looking figures 😄 Shows how strange the obsessive 'collecting' market is.
Seriously. People today would rather shell out money for slight variations of what equates to the same basic, cheap-looking figure over and over rather than say buy something from DST. Ridiculous. Edit: Guy has no taste. The wrecking crew wrecker has more detail on it than nearly any Hasbro released since then. And he calls it 'average' and likens it to the WWE.
@@answeris746 he's average looking sure I'm not arguing that. But look at the detail on that figure itself dude. Look at the lines on his uniform, and the way its details are embossed, rather than cheaply painted on. Look at his boots and gloves. Look at the face. It's a good figure even if the character is lame.
Stryfe was from a relatively scarce Toys R Us exclusive wave and is the only time the character has been produced at this scale. That's why he's valuable.
You guys probly not going to belive this but one time i went to go walk my dog and i went to this little disount store next to my house and i found a marvel legends stan lee for $4 i bought in a heart beat😂😂😂
Pretty sure that Storm, Stryfe are both from Toys R Us exclusive wave, only place I ever found them and they had the exclusive sticker, in Canada anyways.
The Storm and Stryfe are part of a Toys R Us exclusive wave that was really really really hard to find for me and I think most people. I have all mentioned here except the three Target and Walmart exclusives. I regretfully took a break from collecting around that time and I open all mine. No judgment, carded collections just aren’t as fun or practical for me unless it’s like a small toy run like Kenner’s Raiders of the Lost Ark.
I started collecting Legends not too long ago and my first figure was Hobgoblin 🤣 Space Venom was my first wave I ever got and completed. Crazy to know I’ve $100 sitting on my desk lmao
The Wrecking Crew is a 4 member faction consisting of The Wrecker (the figure on the list), Thunderball (which you added to the list after kicking the exclusives), Piledriver and Bulldozer....
You missed pizza Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2099, spider girl, black cat, brown wolverine, Jim Lee sabertooth, spider gwen, agent Steve Roger other wrecking crew members and a bunch more.
Let me think, I have chameleon, superior venom and hobgoblin. There might be one more, I am not certain. With previous videos I tell you all my figures are boxed and pristine. I find boxed figs are more difficult to find. A good video.
I remember seeing 12 chameleon figures at K-mart a back in the day. And half of them were on clearance $11.30 each. I should have picked them up when I had the chance.
I don't know if someone else pointed this out cuz I'm late to the party and didn't make it all the way through the comments. Now, in my best Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons voice: You said you don't like Hyperion because he is a Superman knockoff. True, he and The Squadron Supreme were all knockoffs of the Justice League because Marvel wanted to do an Avengers vs Justice League story way back when. Then you declare your love for Gladiator who is also a knockoff of Superman. He leads the Imperial Guard who are a knockoff of the Legion of Superheroes because Marvel wanted to do an X-Men vs Legion storyline way back when. His name is actually Kalark which is Kal El and Clark combined. I love both characters if you haven't figured that out yet.
I only got Wrecker and Chameleon. Thank you for the Christmas gifts years ago momma. Plus she got Wrecker for like $10 at TJ Maxx lol. I found Stryfe at a comic book store for like $22. I didn’t even know who he was he just looked cool. Glad I got it lol
Dang, I would always find Rogue when i was hunting for Wolverine and Deadpool in the Juggernaut wave, wish I would of bought them all. Gladiator was like a peg warmer for some time, found him everywhere. I have many figs that I picked up cheap and hoping that they will go up in value.
You beat me to this... most of the value if that fug comes from his BAF part... loose, the fig could be had at close to retail... the Apoc head, however, I've seen selling loose for over $90
@@fotzilla3832 - wow $90 for the BAF head??? I still need to track down a Silver Savage figure...thankfully I'm a loose figure collector so save a little bit trying to track down loose figures.
@@dano_cosmic It's been a while since I looked, so I can't say which way the price has fluctuated, if at all, but I've seen it go for that much, which is nuts for a grape sized piece of plastic.
I am pretty sure the reason why the Storm and Stryfe figures are going for so much, is because of the Jubilee BAF pieces. For a long time, Jubilee could only be acquired through this Toys R Us exclusive waive. Now that the Jubilee figure can be had for regular prices, I notice the BAF version has decreased in value. I am pretty sure, at least for me, the Storm and Stryfe are not as sought out. Especially Storm, since she has been remade as well with much better versions. Stryfe might hold a little more value due to being the only Stryfe figure available and more X-force figures have been made. It completes the X-Force line for complitionist.
I have 5 out of 10 of them so I have 1/2 of the list. I just found marvel now! Storm and spiral this year. I had Tigra that I used for a custom back in the day because she was $5. If only I knew
Silver Savage is Silver Surfer. It's from the Planet Hulk Storyline. Hulk and silver surfer are enslaved by those blue device on their chests and are forced to fight like gladiators.
Store Exclusive = impossible to find at retail, especially if it's a Wal*Mart exclusive. Target exclusives tend to be in more of the 50/50 range, but I can usually get good luck with them. But Wal*Mart? I've never seen one in the wild. Even if it's an alleged peg-warmer, they are MIA in my area, even though I can easily get to 10+ Wal*Marts within a short driving distance. All I can figure is that So-Cal must be a collector heavy area.
Wrecker is a good character with a healthy fan base. He was on a Deadpool comic issue. Where Deadpool was trying to get him evicted from some apartments.
When the space venom set came out. I bought the only hobgoblin figure they had at silver snail- did the same with hela woththe ragnorak line came out. Nevee seen 'em again in stores, whoch made me feel lucky. I'm miffed though, because if knew how rare Aries would have been, I'd have snagged him too.
Your videos are professional, and your content is top notch. I think you should do a list of the worst RU-vid channels in this category that have over 10k subscribers. Also, when they release a video, their views are 1 to 2k or less. Where are their subscribers?
Wow here in Mexico is very different, I just found Gladiator 2 weeks ago in a store, but of course I only wanted the BAF head, and now nobody wants him without it, I think Rogue is the most wanted right now here, and finally I still remember I found almost the whole Rhino baf when it came out for less than a half the price in a supermarket
I only have Rogue from the overall list and Gladiator from the 'no exclusives' list. Luckily someone left Gladiator on the peg with the extra case Wolverine and Multiple Man because initially they were the least desired of the bunch. I bought all 3 and never found Gladiator in the wild again.
I have Storm. Got her for $4 when Hastings closed down. Also have Superior Venom found him out in the wild.. Also have Hobgoblin from the wild. Still have Spiral, Rogue and Tigra from the same target. Also have Stryfe from Hastings. Also have Thunderball, Hyperion and SDCC exclusive Gladiator.
I only have Stryfe in my collection. Snagged him for 65 usd months ago. My original intention was to kit bash him together with parts from the FF wave Doctor Doom to create an Emperor Doom from Secret Wars. But I realized a ML Sentry from the all father wave was the same upper torso mold.
The store exclusives are really tricky to get in the UK, some of those 'pegwarmers' are the ones we can't get.. :,( I have a few of the ones on this list though, somehow. Storm, Stryfe and Rogue.
3:39....thats 'The Wrecker'...leader of The Wrecking Crew(Cannonball, Piledriver, Bulldozer are other members). Waiminute...you know alot about the value of these figs but not alot about the characters. Are you sure your not a 'scalper' instead of a 'collector'?!🧐
