I agree. Peggy Cap is such a boring character. Marvel is trying to push her make her the next big thing, but we’ve already seen her die in live action. She’s irrelevant and lame. I’m tired of super soldiers.

@@mikemiken1963 So what let not make this about it being a woman in the lead. She did a great job and we got to see how strong and tough Carter really is. She literally got hit by a car, multiple cars actually. No offence to the Captain America movies - loved it but you weren't always able to tell he was strong because ordinary humans could go toe-to-toe with him, like the acrobatic French man in civil war. This shouldn't be possible considering he could flip a motorcycle over his head, kick a truck one with foot, hold a helicopter, etc (meaning his muscles and bones have to be so dense otherwise the stress would rip them apart) but struggled with one guy.

The final scene where Kakhori and Captain Carter picked up all the weapons felt like a MMORP videogame where you just give your character the strongest weapons and outfit pieces even if they don't match from an aesthetic point of view 😆

I like the idea that the episode title refers to Strange Supreme intervening - as in he was able to finally take back control from his demons of grief and let himself fall and be consumed by the forge.

I think it’s he lost control of the dark spirits he ate. They teased it in season one with him struggling to control his hand during the ultron fight. Now imagine countless fights against all the villains of the multiverse. Universe killers. And having trapping them one by one he eventually lost control and the plot of the show came to fruition. Could have definitely set it up better perhaps an end credit scene or a build up through the season

"again"? Strange Supreme never got over his grief of destroying his universe and losing Christine. Plus he's constantly battling his "inner demons" which are literally demons he absorbed during his introductory episode in season 1. A couple of extra post-credit scenes of him collecting super powered beings might have added some early clues to his ultimate plan.

I think the demon inside Dr. Strange was already teased back in the first season where they were trying to attract Ultron when Peggy and Strange talked about their Universes and we see his hand transformed and Strange tried to control going berserk. I was happy to see the many versions of every characters in this episode that I always wanted, hoping to see more like this in future series and movies

Kilmonger with all 6 stones collected was easily tricked by Kahhori who only got partial power from a single stone??? This is humiliating and disgusting. I understand Marvel wanted some original heroe and her highlight and all the political correctness going on, but so much plot design with invalid logic. What an inane finale

As a non-comic book reader, one of my biggest struggles with this series is how powerful and all-knowing the Watcher truly is. Im not calling it weak storytelling, just think it would help me better understand why he sees certain events coming(such as Supreme Strange being corrupted) but is blindsided by Infinity-gemed Ultron becoming aware of him.

He can't see everything, only things that were "supposed to happen". Otherwise if he could see everything he would know there's nothing to worry about as everything works out for him in the end. Another way to look at it is that Ultron somehow became a multidimensional being equivalent to that of the watcher . The watcher can only see things below his dimension and thus was unable to predict Ultron.

Full Demon Strange was a beast, he absorbed the Ancient One, Dr Strange, Wong, countless Demons, part of Shuma Gorath and more. The fact that he’s scales above the IG is believable after in season 1 he was not even full beast mode, was ensuring the team where okay and probably absorbed many more after it, yet was still going toe to toe in non beast mode. Trapped IG Thanos, IG Killmonger, Surtur, Hela, Wanda etc, crazy powerful. He gave me Sentry/Void vibes with that evil side to him.

Dr. Strange sent Kahhori to gather all the Multiverse villains so that he can bring back her Universe. But when Kahhori found out, she broke off from Strange and that's when Stephen called in Peggy.

I just had a thought, if Dr. Strange no longer exists in his recreated OG universe, who exactly is going to stop Kacelius and all the other implied villains that Strange defeated before he got corrupted into Strange Supreme? Wong and Mordo weren't strong enough, Ancient One was destined to die. Aren't they basically screwed, then if the events leading up to Dr Strange 1 happen without Strange there?

That would make for an interesting episode. If they cover it in season 3, it'll probably depend more on voice actor availability than actual likelihood. Tom Hiddleston and the RDJ impersonator have done 2 seasons now and both Loki and Tony Stark were Sorceror Supreme in the comics, so either could be a What If...? Also Dr.Doom, if the MCU has committed to introducing him by then.

It doesn’t play out the same way doctor strange 1 does. It’s a completely different universe than the mcu. Christine doesn’t die in the mcu and they aren’t together.

It seems Supreme Strange and Scarlet Witch in M.O.M. had similar arcs both turning into the villian because of obsession with trying to bring back loved ones ( Christine and Wanda's kids). Then dying at the end. I never felt like Supreme Strange was redeemed in S1, just said and defeated.

The most controversial one is Captain Carter grabbing the Stones unharmed but I think she was protected by Supreme Strange's spell he gave her at the beginning of the episode, although they should've definitely made it clear. I have to admit I didn't trust Supreme Strange when he showed up in Kahhori's episode, but nobody cared bc he is supposed to look as sinister as always, yet his relapse could've been written better.

17:42 Something I was curious about from the 1602 episode was the fact that Captain Carter could hear the Watcher’s narration something he was shocked about. That combined with holding the infinity stones barehanded (something they seemed to emphasize) makes me think just all this multidimensional hopping is mutating her a bit.

He's absolutely not a Balrog and it has nothing to do with Lord of the Rings. He's absorbed an interdimensional demon of some sort.... just like he did in season 1. Nothing even close to LotR.

in the 1602 episode, antman says to tony "lets get you to that sceptre" (in that universe the sceptre contained the timestone), refrencing how in endgame, tony flicks antman to the sceptre (which has the mind stone contained). idk if anyone has noticed this or not, but thats one of the things i noticed as well :)

This is what I expect in Secret Wars but more one world devastating crap out of fights. I also love some of the "amalgamation" of some characters and the comeback of those in season one. Overall, its a 10/10 episode, a solid and an exciting one to watch. And don't forget the new intro and finally they have a new one for the series!!!!

The way i was waiting your review! 😊 This was amazing to watch! I was on the edge of my seat. I could tell from Strange's conversation with Carter that he was setting her up. But i thought he sent her to get a variant of herself. Definitely surprised to see her fighting Kahhori! Very glad that she isn't written to be a sentimental character to her detriment like scarlet witch. This season was superb they are improving the formula each time. I just want to know why the animated series in any major movie is always better i.e. clone wars,rebels are the better stories in star wars. Any way happy new year Charlie. I think the episode points to how strange was never in control truly, but his demons were. So much so, he couldn’t tell the difference between his demons and himself. Even to the point his demons use his persona to manipulate Peggy.

Honestly this finale of season 2 felt like a rush job and didn’t really give us build up to supreme doctor strange being evil properly at least in my opinion.

I think the reason she was able to wear the rings was because it was given to her by the owner as he fell. Hela knocked him unconscious in one of the what-if episode but couldn't remove the rings from his wrists even though he was unconscious, and in the legend of the ten rings it only changed color when his father relinquished control. I remember reading somewhere that it imprints on the user and only when they give up control by passing it along can the person who now has control of it truly use it.

thanks for identifying all of those little clips in the intro. I need to go back and rewatch that. I'm thinking that Kahori is worthy to wield Mjolnir but telekinesis works too. I think the 1602 episode is my favorite too. Pretty good season overall. I do wonder if that butterfly theme will carry over to season 3.

Something that I didn't really understand was how was Peggy able to use the infinity stones since it was mentioned in the Loki series that they only work in the universe where they are from 🤔 Am I missing something?

Talk about multiversal secret wars is what the season 2 finale of What If...? felt like with Supreme Strange being Doctor Doom in some way. The amount heroes and villains from the different universes he gathered and the whole Thor: Ragnarok reference with Clancy Brown's Asgard's doom with Surtur and encountering Hela again was hilarious and of course lets not forget Fenrir the wolf.

I think God King Doom is just above Supreme Strange in power just because the phoenix would give Doom power over life force itself so he could legitimately just give Stephen a magic free universe with Christine

@8:35 the characters are from different multiverses and timelines. We learned during loki that stones from different universes can exist outside their universe. Since strange isn't Kang and stranges sactum is different than the tva, it safe assume they would work and they are shown too. If inf ultron accidentally got released, id say the watcher would intervene cuz that ultron was able to fk him up. 17:10 What is weight in a vacuum? What is holding if need not touch to wield?

I really like Captain Carter I think she is really cool and well written but I hope they do more anthology based story telling next season. She had a lot of episodes dedicated to her being the hero at that point might as well give her a spin off. Loved the finale and this season. Killmonger coming in with the save against Thanos was the best part for me. Hela too they know fans love these villains I hope they do more with them in live action like with Loki.

The thing with the infinity Ultron is. That un Ultron from another universe were he didn't wonder in the multiverse. And the suit that kilmonger have is the true infinity armor from season one that should also be more powerful.

Kahhori telling Hela that "the last time someone tried to make her kneel didn't end up so great for her" about queen Isalbella, is also a parallel to what Steve Rogers said to Loki in the first Avengers movie, when Cap is fighting Loki and meets Tony for the first time later on in tat scene. Something along the lines of "the last time I was in Germany and someone tried to stand above everyone else, we ended up disagreeing!"

How does Loki's Tree of Life, which when viewing it from the TVA or how The watcher amd Peggy were viewing it, sync up with the place where the watcher hangs out watching the multiverse? Don't all timelines exist in Loki's tree now?

It was mentioned that the watcher is a 5th dimensional being. My theory is that the yggdrasil is a 4th dimension thing and so they can see it like we do as viewers. The place that The Watcher hangs out in probably works similarly, just with the purpose of viewing what's going on inside each of the yggdrasil branches.

I like that they didnt tell us who the main villain would be. it makes sense that Strange would be moving in secrecy. also, love the implied 'what if?' for captain carter - what if peggy didnt cope well with the lose of a loved one. of course there's a ''with great power comes great responsibility' proverb so we dont know what she would do if she had the gifts of the mystic arts

6:27 I actually disagree that they should have teased Strange’s turn at the end of season 1. I love that it was a surprise at the end of this season and I don’t feel like it’s out of character for him given what we saw in S1 and his habit of doing what is best for him despite what it means for everyone else. I could see him at the end of S1 actually thinking he could live with his grief, only to realize over time that he just can’t let it go. If they had teased it in S1, it would have been obvious where S2 was going and I loved not knowing…I wouldn’t have wanted that experience spoiled - given how bad so much tv and film these days assumes the audience isn’t smart enough to “get it” and spoon feeds teasers so much that nothing is a surprise.

Just noticed that when Carter hits Strange with the fistful of infinity stones that the punch glows purple, then yellow and then green. I think she used the power stone to stun him, the mind stone to release the good Strange that the bad one absorbed in S1 and then hit him with the time stone so he could properly think it over longer.

The episode was cool, I agree that it could made sense for Strange Supreme to go evil again in order to resurrect his own universe but it needed more time in previous episodes to develop that idea. There were a few other things I felt like could've used more time, it seemed really convenient that Kahhori can just teleport Killmonger out of the armor. It seemed like Strange Supreme got an even bigger power upgrade some time between the events of the season 1 finale and the season 2 finale, this time he solo fought several multiversal threats without the rest of the Guardians of the Multiverse. Loved the scene where the villains started throwing their weapons to Captain Carter and Kahhori. Strange turning into a demon actually reminded me of Belos from the Owl House, his demon form reminded me a lot of Belos's titan form.

on the subject of why CC's arm didn't explode there are a couple of things to note. its highly arguable how the infinity stones work and you have to consider that they actually work slightly differently in various retellings over the years, with some simply driving the weilder mad and loosing their "humanity" while others can literally break the hulks arm... its also likely that CC isn't as "normal" as you'd think, having touched the multiverse. consider that not only is her will nigh unbreakable but she has also been exposed to the energies of the multiverse which is the same stuff that gives beings like the watcher such power. while she cant weild that energy directly its reasonable to consider that her exposure makes her resistant to the otherwise destructive nature of the infinity stones, like how Peter Quill was able to hold the power stone for a time simply because he was half celestial. in a sense, her exposure to much more powerful multiversal scale energies may have "innoculated" her to an extent.

I really liked the first season because they went away with the idea that good guys always wins, you have Avengers becoming zombies in a doomed world, Dr Strange destroying his world, Ultron becoming so strong that almost wiped the multiverse. What do we have in season 2 ? Nothing. No bad guy wins, no risks, they just HEAVILY used season 1 characters. It would have been nice if Dr Strange had actually won one way or another. Or maybe Avengers somehow existing under a united Hydra world protecting Earth from cosmic threats. These writer really lack any imagination.

People in the MCU are terrible at using the Infinity Stones. Only Strange and Ultron have been even mid at using them so far...comic book Thanos was way better at using them, and the MCU stones are actually even more powerful since they can be used outside their universe.

Also, whatever that figure is in Supreme Strange's shadow is when they walk into the Sanctum Infinitum when they walk in. Bonus points for the evil eye all the way to the left and right of the screen and the X at the top/right of the screen.
