NsteveA why thank you! Yeah I usually just start playing around on the guitar and something stands out as the right song for the demo. That one was calling to me!
Max Rockatansky hey!!! A real live customer. Thanks for the business! We appreciate you. And congrats on the new axe. Did you get the avocado green Warhawk?
@@MasonMusicRocks Yes sir! It's truly amazing. Reverend guitars are just killing it. And thanks again...super easy purchase. Hope that Japanese Fender finds a good home. 🤟🤟😁😁
Good review 👍 Just a shame no one I have seen yet has played any of these guitars in a high gain setting and I've watched quite a few reviews on Reverend guitars. Would be great to see if these Railhammer pickups can produce tones for at least some 80s classic metal or 90s alternative stuff, like Ratt, Dokken. All reviews are either jangly country blues or slightly crunchy.🥺
Hi ! Thank you for this video. I must say the charger is very tempting in crunchy territories, but on cleans surprisingly it seems to deliver a "flatter" sound than the Buckshot you showed us in another demo. I wonder why... (I'm looking for something different from the Warhawk-RT and the Airsonic-RA that I already got (both astonishing guitars with some character). Maybe a 390 model..?. but still pondering on the difference between set neck and bolt-on in this category...
Hmmmm- there are lots of variables (Amp, amp settings, string age, etc) that could lead to that difference, but I do think from playing these a lot that the buckshot has a little more twang that pokes out especially on clean settings. We had a jetstream 390 in a while back that was sick! Also have you checked out the contender rb? We have one in Venetian gold that is a total jaw dropper.
Lol- I have never heard that before. Not from PA- born in GA and moved to AL when I was 10. I did date a girl from PA in high school so there’s that… I definitely don’t have a full blown southern accent, so who knows… make sure you subscribe to hear more of whatever accent I have! Haha
YESSIR - my old band (Moses Mayfield) toured with them so I can't NOT play Switchfoot. Also, I think I ended that quickly because I noticed the tuning was off a little and didn't want to stop the shot! haha. Always fun to go back and critique your own work.
Hetfield7782 great question. I played it through my Samamp (local to Birmingham, AL handmade 6L6 tube amp) too. I actually liked the samamp a little better for the clean and mild overdrive tones, but the orange does the high gain thing much better.
MasonMusicRocks interesting. How do you compare the OR15 with the Rocker32? I’m literally on the cusp of getting that amp with either a Reverend Double Agent or Charger RA.
Hetfield7782 man, we have a demo of the or15 shot but not edited yet!!! I do have a demo of the rocker32. I’m a huge fan bc of the stereo effect situation and I’m too lazy to deal with a head and cab... but that’s just me! Here’s our demo of the rocker 32: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7QNNwnC_Clc.html If you’re serious about buying, please consider shopping with us. We have all of that gear up on our reverb store right now and shipping is free! reverb.com/shop/mason-music?
@@MasonMusicRocks ha! i had already watched your rocker32 video (it was great)! between the charger RA and double agent OG - which styles do you find them suited best toward? is one more limited than the other? that's my biggest dilemma right now (and no store around me has a charger RA to try out making it harder). ps - thanks for responding so much. ps - would you consider base or neutral tone position for this guitar where both tone and bass contour are fully dialed in? sometimes it's hard to tell (along with amp volume) how thick and bright the tone is for a guitar when the demonstrator is all over the place with those two knobs (which is still helpful in its own right).
Hetfield7782 oh man- those are two great guitars and both super versatile. I find myself going more towards rock and blues on most guitars I pick up, but the charger RA definitely has more clarity and bite with the railhammer pickups. The double agent seems to be more of a classic sound and the RA sounds a little bit more modern to my ears. But that’s just me. They both cover a ton of ground and neither one is limited- I will say the RA can do the modern thing really well, but rolling the tone off ever so slightly can put it in the classic and vintage range, so maybe that gives it a slight edge. Plus the roasted neck and color options are factors too. As far as the bass and tone knobs, I tend to leave the tone all the way up 98% of the time. The bass knob I play with more- just depending on the amp and pedal settings it’s nice to have the onboard control over low end. You’re welcome! Let us know if we can ship you a guitar and an amp! We’d love to earn your business!
I have the opportunity to get the Reverend Double Agent W in trans black for a low price. I want the Kingbolt Ra, but the thing is that I will pay 400 in cash more than the other one. What is your opinion? {keep on the videos, you are doing a very nice job!}.
I prefer the Kingbolt, but the double agent isn't much different - $400 is a lot if you're not sold on the kingbolt. Have you watched our demo of the kingbolt yet?
Tough call - They sound very similar if you're looking at the RA models. Personally, I don't use a tremolo bar much, but I dig the shape of the Kingbolt and the color of the front/back is so nice. I'd give the edge to the kingbolt, but mainly on looks. ALSO - we just got one in this week and it's up on our reverb page. Check it out! We'd love the opportunity to take care of you!
Great question- I haven’t a/b’ed them directly but I can say that I dig both- the nuevo 90s are pretty sweet for the hum cancellation but I also love the standard p90s too. Sorry that’s not much help. I’m out of the shop at the moment or I’d go play them and give you a better answer! We do have demos of some standard p90s too- you can check those out! Good luck shopping!
Great question - I'm not sure, but will check with our rep. We did sell the one we had earlier this year and have not been able to get one back in stock - may just be back ordered from the factory. Great guitar for sure!
Scott Bussey hey! We don’t have it in stock but email us at merch@masonmusicstudios.com and we can order one for you. I believe the RA’s have been on back order for a bit during Covid but we can definitely get you some info at the minimum.
JSpic let’s test it!!! I’m all for empirical evidence. Maybe I can design a rig with similar strength materials and make two identical joints- one with 4 bolts, one with 6 and then use some sort of piston and force meter to measure the breaking points. Ok- now I’m in over my head- need the myth busters for this one!!!
