Massage in a Decade! 2010 vs 2019 

Thanks for the info man. I work on the side by choice as LMT. I love it so much that I’m afraid to get sick of it. Working part time to me is very rewarding since take me away from other different kind of job that is very stressful. I agree with the higher education perspective. I was unaware of how much there was to learn, and practice, while signing up for college. I knew I was good at Massage, and that it was a right choice, but it would have been more respectful for them to keep the course to a year or more, and to be able to chose if we feel we need more time, towards the end of the terms. I am glad I can study, write down notes, and practice, through highly knowledgeable demonstrations on RU-vid, you are a teacher, thank you

I believe continuing education ceu units should be required of new massage therapist .most good therapist expand there knowledge of different modalities and practices to grow their business and to ensure greater customer satisfaction.

I have been watching this channel for about a year and realized I don't know what the "HM" stand for in the business title. Are the clients featured in these videos friends, family, or actual customers? Is the music used in the opening and closing royalty free or made specifically for this channel?

I never got close to 600 hours in my first year. I think the quality should be higher and more business focused. A successful therapist will invest in continuing education, a great therapist who struggle to keep afloat won't have the resources to pay for extra courses.

I have end-stage ankylosing spondylitis. I'm fairly hyperkyphotic. Because if this I'm in constant muscular pain with my body trying to sit my head back on my shoulders. I have gone to get massages and they help. I've found 2 guys who have gotten the mid and lower traps to release but ran out of time before they got the upper traps to release. Unfortunately, both have left the clinics. I always ask what I can do at home and they always tell me nothing other than a ball in a sock. That won't work for me because of my kyphosis! The massages are awesome, but $75 for 3 days of relief isn't something I can maintain, financially! Any ideas? I've tried those hooks and stuff to push into trigger points. I don't see any difference. I push so hard I bruise myself. I bought a shiatsu pillow and my rheumatologist about fell over dead and told me to throw that in the trash and to never use it! Because of those hard steel rolling balls if they hit bone, which is new home my body has grown to fuse my spine in this position, it could cause catastrophic damage or even death! Eeek! I'm terrified of that thing now. I had use them in the past and although they hurt like hell, I would grin and bear it because I knew in the long run it would be worth it. The next day my muscles would be so sore, like lactic acid sore. I knew it had at least gotten some of the spasms out. Now I've been approved for Botox by a neurologist, were waiting on my insurance to approve it.

Looking into going to school for massage therapy but I have a slight case of scoliosis. Would this enable me from doing so?

Also in the past 10 years the whole ASMR thing took off, i was aware of the feeling many years ago back in the 90s ( i called i brain buzz at the time) but now it has become a industry....but to be honest now a lot of it feels far to forced and i do not like it (infact some make me irrationally annoyed)
