Finally! I visited Forge Motorsport to have their new HUGE 380mm 6 pot big brake kit fitted to my I30N DCT FL along with EBC RP-1 pads from Demon tweeks

Fantastic info. This upgrade would be the first for me. Even stock the i30N is quick enough on the road to warrant the extra braking power and weight reduction. Start with the stopping power upgrade and go up in HP from there. They looked awesome on your 19s and can see them looking amazing on the stock 19s.

Very tempting to upgrade. Good to know that they are compatible with the standard 19inch FL wheels (albeit with a 3mm spacer)

Do you have a plan for maintenance? What do you do when the caliper needs to be replaced, pads, etc? It's almost hard enough getting OEM parts. Kind of. In US lots of brake pads and rotors for OEM spec. I guess with $$$ its no problem

something NEVER mentioned with big brakes, is the fact you're increasing rotational inertia/mass = less power to the ground.. i promise all the weight is being placed further out with larger rotors.. even if it's technically 'lighter' the weight savings is only in the center/middle (hat). it's like putting on heavier wheels.. i promise

I would like to see specific measurements for breaking distance before and after. Also, its important to know the difference in weight before and after installing the kit. You put a lightweight wheel, but how total weight affects turning behaviour of the car?

Good video, but I was hoping you might mention the ABS. After re-watching the emergency stop it looks like your ABS system is intact, did Paul have to recalibrate anything to make it work smoothly?

Did you only change the brake kit and not the lines? I'd be interested to know if the Forge braided brake lines would also increase braking performance over the standard lines in the standard brake setup, and if they also further increase the performance of the big brake kit

@@Trophy_R I’ll be totally honest, I had my racebox mini in the car and I know the stock car stops from 60mph in 35 meters. So I tried to measure it for this video, I just couldn’t get the racebox mini to work from motion to a stop, it worked from a stop to moving. I’ll do some more research and try and understand how it works a little more

Just front for now, Wortec stopped doing the enlarged rear brake upgrade. I’m trying to look at other options for the rear as I was very fond of the rear kit too

@@mariowang3869 if you run the stock FL wheels, you need a 3mm spacer which I believe is included in the brake kit, with the spec wheels I just gave you, no spacers are required

I mean i30N not that high HP car even stock break would stop at given time. Big breaks are useless unless you tracking the car
