Master Qi Gong teacher Lee Holden and James Nestor Discuss the Art of Breathing: Check out the Breathwork Online Course Now: qigo.ng/breathwork-online-course
James Nestor is extremely popular these days. Particularly because he penned the recent New York Times bestselling book, Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art, and it blew people's minds.
In Breath, James Nestor expertly weaves his personal story with breathwork, his intimate encounters with “pulmonots'' across the globe, and a litany of fascinating breathwork studies. He concludes that breathwork is perhaps the most profound and effective natural self-healing technique known to humankind.
On the other side, Qi Gong is an ancient system of coordinated body movements synchronized with the breath. It’s said that Qi Gong masters have 50% more lung capacity than non-practitioners. That means they absorb significantly more oxygen than other people!
In this 50-minute interview with Lee Holden and James Nestor, you will discover…
- How breathing really affects your health.
- What happens when you breathe into different parts of your body.
- James' thoughts on doing breathwork to get into flow states.
- What recent studies are showing about the link between breathing exercises and logical decision making.
- The truth about the connection between your mind and body.
- The answer to Lee’s question: “How does breath allow us to enter a state of rest, digest, and healing?”
- The #1 mistake most people make when they try to reduce stress (and James' simple fix).
- The breathwork practice James does every day, for 20 minutes a day which he calls his, "pressure release valves he cannot live without."
- What's currently happening to the Western healthcare system… and what the future of healthcare needs to look like for humanity to thrive.
Want to try breathwork yourself? Or if you’ve already done breathwork, dive deeper and learn more techniques?

This is a marvelous discussion. Lee Holden is the perfect interlocutor between Western and Eastern health practices: knowledgeable, experienced, open minded and empathetic. I wish he would do a series of interviews like this focussing on the intersection of western functional medicine, longevity research and ancient health and meditative practices. Brilliant! Thank you so much for this. 🙏🙏

Such a beautiful talk. I am cherishing this practice. The connection towards this work is beyond words. The stillness in between the inhalation and exhalation is an invitation for healing and re-adjustment. I love the end of the talk, indeed we are exchanging energy with trees and plants, it’s like a rhythmic dance. 🙏🏻💎🙏🏻 🙏🏻💎🙏🏻

Great talk! Being vegan is living in a compassionate and non-violent way that promotes inner well-being. It is eating a 100% plant-based diet, while not intentionally harming or exploiting animals and all beings. Veganism is a lifestyle, plant-based is a diet. Plus all the animals are saved from senseless harm and death.

This is a very enlightening conversation. Thank you. It reinforces in a strong way what God has been trying to get through to me for months now. I tried Universal Breathing last night before bed and felt the positive effects right away, plus I had a good sleep. I'd love to hear more real life testimonies of how changing your breathing has improved people's health. Also, is there a specific breathing technique you could recommend for someone with severe adrenal fatigue?

This is so good - so true - so informative! Thank you for this ! I have one question-when you mentioned breathing before meditation, you said you don’t need to picture deity in front of you . Can you explain better what you mean by meditation if we’re not connecting to deity ? This is the one thing I don’t understand. Thank you.
@HoldenQiGong
@HoldenQiGong Год назад
Hi Marie! Although you do not 'need' to - if it better helps you in your practice to connect to a deity then you certainly may! Although many people do connect to a deity when meditating, some in the past have expressed that they prefer to connect to something else. As not all people share the same philosophies, it is out of consideration to those that the 'need' is optional.

41:00 Preindustrial, pre-sedentary humans, had better nutrition due to foraging and were on average taller than civilized humans. It took vitamins and fortified foods for us to regain our average heights. I wonder if that also has to do with face/mouth development, breath and crooked teeth.

About the question and if humanity breathed well: according to the author Yogue Ramacharaca (William Walker Atkinson) all diseases would be extinct.

Chi is energy, light, all light is moving information your body cannot function, without the codes in light for life. Breath is the organism following the instructions of nature. You can eat whatever you want and be in tip top shape as long as you get optimal light... food is just a container for light from the center of the galaxy relayed by the sun and earth. The reason people must be more concerned with food is because they are lacking light and are starved of light directly from the sun and earth, laregly due to living indoors and electrosmog, artificial forms of light that now saturate our atmosphere such as wireless tech that by function, must saturate long distances to create a network. Disease is not caused by poor breathing the poor breating is the result of being out of sync with nature due to lack of light. Wireless tech on a cellular level hits our being like a jackhammer so we are in a constant state of stress, this distorts heart rate variability and derails natural pace of heart rate and breath as the nervous system is made up of pacemaker cells that oscillate in accord with eartth and sun. So breath is not the most immediate source of life force, it is energy from the sun and earth and center of the galaxy that people are interrupting and overriding when they pollute the air with wireless tech. This is why disease is skyrocketing, as if food were the answer, we would not need disease management insurance plans because it is now very popular to "eat healthy" yet disease persists because we are starved of LIGHT of nature, light of life, all given freely in nature so it does nothing for the economy. The deceptive wireless industry is such an enormous giant that were it held accountable for poisoning all life, it would collapse the economy. This should happen and we should return to our way of life as our creator intended: FREE.

That's very thought provoking. What would your specific recommendations be in regards to light exposure and wireless devices?
@ericmoser4151
@ericmoser4151 2 года назад
@@moth_paws In terms of light exposure. Watching every sunrise and sunset is key is setting your circadian rhythms. After sunset ideally all electronics be put away for the evening and let your mind unwind for eventually deep rest. Getting as much sun gradually as often as you can would be beneficial, as well. Take it slow and build your sun callus up overtime. Any signs of burning go inside immediately. Hope this helps my friend! God bless!

Any thoughts on how wearing masks for a period of time, affects your breath? Studies have shown that most of the common masks out there are not effective to ward off infection.
