Master Simplifying Complex Fractions 

Example 2. After you multiplied the LCD (x-2)(x+2)(x) Should it have been 4/((x-2)+6 (x-2))

I find the LCD to be the more difficult and convoluted way. I much prefer reciprocals even if it is more work in other peoples' eyes..

Regarding the example on the top right (16/x-2)/[(4/x+1) + (6/x)]: on the 2nd line (after you multiplied each fraction by the LCD) you got 4x(x-2)6(x-2)(x+1) in the denominator. I got 4x(x-2) + 6(x-2)(x+1) because I carried the addition, +, down from the original denominator. In other words, what happened to the addition sign between the two fractions in the denominator????

Am I crazy if I say that he might have forgotten to put the "+" in on the denominator for ex) 2?... I also thought that we aren't allowed to just cross our x's unless they were just one x?..

For the answer in 7:02, you forgot to include the addition sign separating the expressions in the denominator. Please check your answer again. This time do it SLOWLY.

JUST TO DOUBLE CHECK - WITH PROBLEM 3 - YOU DON'T SIMPLIFY OUT(X+2) STRAIGHT AWAY BECAUSE THERE'S STILL ADDITION/SUBTRACTION IN THE PROBLEM - WHEREAS IN PROBLEM 2 YOU CAN SIMPLIFY STRAIGHT AWAY BECAUSE NUM. & DEN. ONLY HAVE MULTIPLICATION? edit: like a boss you clarify that on problem 4 - legend , thanks! love the bright orange haha

Helpful hint is to slow down your rate of speech to about 3/4 of that speed. Remember that the point of teaching is not to spit everything you know as fast as you can say it to show kids how smart you are. Instead point of teaching is show kids and people new information at a learnable pace. You do great work, AMAZING VIDEOS, and you obviously know your stuff but remember most people and kids do not have a 4year degree, or higher, specializing in mathematical studies at this point.

I believe the answer he gave for the second example is wrong because he forgot to add the plus sign which will give a different answer from what I got.

this will only work in certain situations but still a great tutorial
