Technically the island was just camouflage that would form every time the mata nui robot laid on another planet meaning the actual island is never gone forever
You've probably looked this up by now but: All the inhabitants of Mata Nui were originally of Metru Nui but evacuated because of their Makuta trying to kill the robot they live in. Once they defeated him with the Toa Nuva, they all went back into Metru Nui and the island was left uninhabited. The Bohrok were re-awakened later down the line and cleared the island so that the giant robot could wake up without killing anything. The robot has since been killed and all inhabitants live onSpherusMagna
@@Pyovali They were protected by the sea dome. Metru-Nui had a large energy field all around it, which we know since Teridax had managed to seal off entry and exit to the island via it at one point.
@@thanoseid2883 The squid ammo the Barraki used were lifeforms native to Aqua Magna and were fully organic. I wouldn't be surprised if a large number died when Mata Nui began standing up.
I can only imagine how earth shattering this was to see back in 2008 Im SO glad they didn't reveal the giant robot in the first year like they initially planned
Remember, this isn't Mata Nui here. This is Teridax. Mata Nui's spirit never returned to the Great Spirit robot after Matoro revived him. Teridax slipped his essence into the Core Processor.
I remember the day this came out Me and my friend had a huge freakout, all the build up all the excitement!!! ......and then the plot twist Makuta Teridax taking over his body amd ejecting mata nui sealed within the Kanohi Ignika into space. We truly felt like we were deceived. And loved every moment of it.
The very name of the franchise confirms it was planned since the beginning. Biological Chronicle because the story until then had all taken place inside Mata Nui's body
Oh! Well it depends of which continuity you are coming from. I could either be a typical dinosaur that survived for millions of years after the dinosaur age, and got exposed to nuclear fallout and mutated into a monster. Or I could be a creature from prehistoric times that fed on radiation and dwelled in the planet's core as outer radiation weakened.
This explains how advanced the great beings where, I have heard claims that hero factory shows a higher demonstrated level of technology, this is far from true and the great beings would make the technology level of humanity (within the HF franchise) seem primitive in comparison. What one forget is that the inhabitants within the Bionicle universe are technology themselves, sentient beings of alien metals and organic matter. The great beings might just be as advanced as the precursors in the halo franchise, where they are basically gods of creation. Just to build this being, which is a sentient universe, a robotic god, is an engineering feat of godlike proportions, something that nothing in the HF universe comes close to.
Literally my only ONLY complaint with Bionicle is that (In universe Chronologically) they used several thousand years way too much! Granted everything inside Mata Nui is mostly robots but still...
According to the Wiki: Mata Nui's original body was 40 million feet high, or 12,000 km high (7,575.56 miles high). His Toa-like body, however, was about 7 feet tall.
SomeKindaSpy Not sure. But Matoran do have very long lifespans and it was built from the inside by the likes of Makuta and av-matoran, so I'd guess a few hundred-thousand years. It's hard to say, since the Great Beings are incredibly powerful. They made Artakha, a being who can make anything instantly out of its base materials.
Damian Freeman Actually, nothing in Bionicle has shown any signs of aging. You can't count the Turaga because they were turned that way immediately after giving up their Toa powers.
@ 88Gojira They had already been vacated to Metru nui, inside of Mata Nui's head. One of the Toas' final jobs to awaken Mata Nui was to release the bohrok swarms to level the island. Makuta had woken them early before. Tahu skipped out on it because he couldn't bear seeing the island leveled, so the other grudgingly did it. So the island was completely barren when Mata Nui rose.
@@SalesmanWave they were long gone since they were basically Mata nui's killer cells and they had done their job at this point (after the Islanders returned to Metru nui)
@@SalesmanWave The Bohrok nests are actually inside the robot face, not the island. After it got cleared off, they returned there. Though they probably got smashed when the Great Spirit Robot took a chunk of Aqua Magna to the back of the head.
Interesting fact: According to official information, the height of Mata Nui is 12,000 km, but according to my calculations it turns out to be about 3,750 km and this figure more realistic
Wow imagine this on a accurate minecraft scale with all the different places like metru nui voya nui and the others all in a huge replica of mata nui that would be awesome!
You definitely wouldn't be able to make a 1:1 scale of Mata Nui, considering Minecraft's 256 block height limit. The dude is _12000 km_ tall, which is 12 million minecraft blocks.
That's why you would build him lying on his back. So the interior land would be faceing up word and normal physics would apply for plants water and lava.
Tips to anyone trying to build him using lego bionicle pieces- Use an Inika body pice, or something similar for the body, and a Toa Mata Head for the head.
@DeathToSkullz101 here's the weirdest thing: it turns out that all those people were actually living INSIDE of the robot body this whole time (and not on islands floating in an ocean) it's WEIRD!!
Mata Nui could literally use the earth as an oversized beachball if he wanted to. Aqua Magna, Bota Magnua, and Bara Magna were all massive compared to Earth.
I was schizophrenicly imagining controlling this robot to fight Cthulhu i grabbed the tenticles on his face with each hand, pulling his face apart cracking and ripping until i ruptured his gas sack but i was the giant robot from bionicle so i kept pulling and throughout the green fog you could hear cthulhu screatching until there was a big wet explosion noise and then it was over
@makuta345 its mata nui but it should have karda nui included if you look and a map theres mata nui metru nui voya nui their all in the shade of mata nui's body
@RiderRengeru Appearently you havn't followed the story ... AT ALL!!! The island was to be cleansed by Borhok's just not yet. The Toa, in a quest to prepare the usniver se Mata Nui's awakening, re-awken the swarm to clear the island, which was created by accident. Now that Mata Nui is awake, the Island has no purpose.
part 2 when mata nui died teridax took control of his body and when matoro revived him and mata nuis spirit tried to enter in the body again teridax sealed mata nui in the ignika. so teridax can do whatever he wants with the matoran universe O_O
some info that i got from greg farshtey or h/e you spell it (the one who does the story) mata nui is 40 million feet tall. O_O the matoran universe is inside him. O_O mata nui the island was only camouflage made to spy on different beings but an accident happend and plant life grew on it. the great cataclysm was actually mata nui falling on his back.
