Hey! I will be applying for the 2024 match next year, however, I graduate in June of 2023 and therefore can do externships for 3 months, in July, August and September. Would I still be able to submit all the LORs in time? Also, thank you for giving us this much guidance, you are the only person who is genuinely trying to help us and everything you're saying is so helpful! You have no idea how much I appreciate what you're doing.
I'm so happy to hear this :') Thank you! It would be better to have all your LoRs uploaded by mid-September (because sometimes it may take about 5 days to process even after uploading) You can request for LoRs as and when you complete a rotation. It may be harder to get an LoR for your September rotation before it ends. You can however try to request the doctor you're rotating w (in Sept) to upload one before the deadline by explaining your situation. Anyway, the date ERAS opens to programs may vary from one year to another. So you can plan it out accordingly. :)

It’s better to ask your professor to upload it cuz that’ll be a waived LoR -> will have more weight If you upload it, it’ll be unwaived and will not be as strong

Hi, great video!! I have a related question I have finished uploading every document, and I'm giving my step 2 on August 31st. Assuming I get my score on Sep 14, will I be able to get my ECFMG certificate by September 28th and send my application out? (All my other documents including MSPE, transcript, LORs etc are all processed and uploaded)
Hey! It dependssss. Like last year it took about 2 weeks to be certified after getting step2CK results. So I’d say, try calling the ecfmg up once you get your results to see if they can possible expedite it for you!
You’re welcome! I think they do (I’m not sure cuz I haven’t seen any of my LoRs) You may be able to get a sample from match a resident’s website. LoRs that are waived carry more weight though!
May I know how do u get all updates about this ERAS and ECFMG and changes they mak? Like do we hav to check their site always or they give email to our registered emails when they mak changes?
ECFMG sends an email once you subscribe to the “ECFMG reporter” ERAS will send you updates once you create an account. Twitter is also a good way to keep yourself updated!

Yes, you can. However it may be better to do your rotations before graduation. That’s a good plan. However, OET may not be a requirement that time (ECFMG guidelines keep changing)

You’re welcome! :) you can try asking your school if they can upload it for you. If yes, then they have to do it. If they can’t, then you’ll be able to upload it yourself.

It is important as the application may not be considered complete without it. I’d recommend trying to reach out to your juniors to see if they can get it for you
Step 2 CS has been canceled! And nope, no deadline as such. You can take the exams whenever you want to but make sure you have all your results (except step 3) before you apply for the match!

Hello. I'll be done with my step 1 and OET by the end of this year and if I finish pathway 6 by Jan 2023 and Step 2ck by Feb is it possible to apply for post match in case I fail to participate in the main match ? I mean to say if I am not ready with my application by September 2022 can I still upload my scores on eras and participate in post match session ? Also if I pass my pathway 6 in Jan 2023 will be still valid for 2024 match ?
IMGs will need to be ECFMG certified by Feb 2023 to participate in match 2023. You will need your diploma in order to be certified. So I guess applying for match 2024 would be ideal!
