Barbara is so laidback, funny, full of charm and absolutely beautiful. I hope she won some big money and can't wait to see her reaction. LOVE this girl!!!!
Did she give the obvious answer to the "doubled in size" only too have it cut out? There seemed to be a slight skip and one of the guests said a confusing comment.
I wouldn't have answered the army itself but from the army surplus store, overall very interesting answers. Hard to believe that Barbara's just about seventy something now
My mind immediately went to ASH WEDNESDAY rather than ASH TRAY, but then of course this was 1974 when people could still smoke in the waiting room of the doctor's office.
The correct answer to the parachute question was ACME. You should never buy a parachute from Acme. They're the company that makes al of Wile E Coyote's failed props for catching the Road Runner...including parachutes!
Today Brett scores her 4th win in the head-to-head match! She's had 11 tries, so her success rate is now 36.4%. Richard tops the list at most overall wins (6 out of 22 attempts, giving him a success rate of 27.3%, the lowest on this list of the 9 top-matching celebs). Betty White 5 wins (12 tries, 41.7%) Bert Convey 4 (12 tries, 33.3%). Charles has 2 (also out of only 3 tries! - 66.7%). Others with 2 head-to-head wins: Jo Ann Pflug 2 out of 7 tries (28.6%). Jack Klugman 2 out of 5 tries (40%). Stu Gilliam 2 out of 5 tries (40%) Ann Elder 2 out of 3 tries (66.7%). (6 other celebs have achieved one head-to-head match.) It's interesting to note that Richard has the most total successful matches, but he's also appeared on every single episode, which no other celeb has done. However, his actual success rate ranks as the absolute lowest of these 8 celebs who've had the most head-to-head matches. *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 to 99, excluding the lost/missing episodes 31, 32, 33.
I love this contestant for sticking with Brett and it makes me think that Brett is her favourite and that makes me so happy. I'm so happy that Brett matched.
Brett mellowed in later years. I found her totally annoying in 73-74 but in the following years she became less overbearing and seemed to fit in better with the other celebs. I wonder if she quit drinking at some point during the shows run?
I never understand why the end of the match is never shown... last episode, she had 5 matches, and the guy was up to play... this episode she has won...
Despite her teeth, her EYES are to die for... I would take her in an heartbeat... Can you imagine what she would look like with today's modern dentistry and braces from childhood?
