This is the first episode where Gene gets a bunch of new suits furnished by Rubin Brothers International. Panel: Jimmie Walker, Brett Somers, Gary Burghoff, Lee Meriwether, Richard Dawson, and Joyce Bulifant
Some Match Game '75 trivia for you. After Toni Nasco's appearance on the daytime Match Game, her husbsnd Mike Nasco would be one of the first two contestants on the very first episode of Match Game PM. And if you notice, SPOILER ALERT, her husband wins and he wins $5,500 in just of the two Super Matches. If you notice, Toni is actually in the audience and she's wearing the same top she wore when she was a contestant. So I was just wondering if maybe they taped the first episode of Match Game PM that same day.
Naa a little too soon for MGPM, the episode guide show the first episode being shot in July 13 and this was tape maybe in Feb, the episode aired March 3.. Maybe she just wore the same top by accident.. ;0) But it could be wrong. ;0)
Two questions with obvious answers, had Pat answered beard she would have won because the panel was split on Don's question. Toni is such a doll, hard to believe she's probably in her late sixties now. Joyce had the right answer with lap
No H/H match today because the contestant chose a response that didn't appear on the audience match board... (That must be so disappointing for a contestant.) Looking at this week's panel, in addition to our regulars Richard and Brett, we have Joyce back with her perfect score of 3 out of 3 H/H matches won (maybe a sharp contestant will choose her and win some cash). We have Jimmie Walker who has been chosen once before (no match yet), and we have Gary who has scored 2 matches out of 3 tries. Finally we have Lee Meriwether who hasn't yet participated in a H/H match. Here's the current leader board showing the 10 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy: TIE: Orson Bean - 100% (3 wins in 3 attempts). TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 100% (3 wins in 3 attempts). Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). TIE: Betty - 50% (15 wins in 30 attempts). TIE: Fannie - 50% (7 wins in 14 attempts). Charles - 45.7% (16 wins in 35 attempts). Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts). Richard - 35.5% (72 wins in 203 attempts). Bert - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts). Brett - 32.1% (9 wins in 28 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 411, excluding the lost/missing episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!")
He was a fantastic actor - did you by any chance ever hear of “The Best Years of Our Lives”? Several more films, but he won an Oscar for that one (1947).
If Richard's ex wanted me to wear a plastic bag, I'd do it willingly. But given her proclivities, she wanted him to wear nothing and get in front of a camera.
