The Mazda might be more competitive at higher speeds when aerodynamics and power matter more but there is no way an MX5 would overtake a 7 in the bends. This was either staged or an example of how not to drive round a corner.
Have a 2.0 ND - scary fast . Can almost compete with my RX 7 FC Turbo. Now with stiffer springs from Eibach we should give it a try against, I presume You have a Catterham ? Also converted the brakes , has K Sport 4 pots front now...
Mazda pay more in advertising and have a larger marketing budget to lavish on the media than Caterham do. So there was only going to be one winner. Hence why they also rigged the fight by choosing the then weakest model Caterham.
Bahaha that guy let the mazda win. It's like watching a Hollywood movie with exotic cars racing down the highway with out going pass the speed limit got fake writing all over it. Give the keys to real race car drivers there will be a big difference in who will win
I would not feel safe in a Caterham in todays traffic. But as a track toy it would be great. Why the horrible steel disc wheels on this version!? The first thing i would change.
The MX5 1.5 is set up for road use - yes, it is soft and compliant, and that's the point.. you can lean on it in and out of turns and get dive and squat - that's where the fun is to be had at safe speeds. It is about sensation and feel. I have had a Noble M12 GTO, Ferrari 308GTB, several 911 3.2 Carreras, Integrale, Fuliva, various hot minis, 205gti's and an original baby Elan and +2 as well as a race engine 160BHP Caterham 1.7 Supersprint. The 1.5 MX5 is right up there with them for fun.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gDLKwTdurxg.html
