They used to mention his MMA experience a lot in WWE when he first got there and they made a match based around his MMA the fight pit DC even came in to be the ref for the last one he had and you can see that he has legit martial arts training cause he uses a lot of kicks and knees in his wrestling move set and wrestles bare foot 😂
Didn't even need to hit him when he was on the ground either, guy probably would have continued if ref didn't stop it. Worst kind of guy to fight because even if he wins he's going to do more damage than necessary after the fights already over.

Riddle actually compelled me to watch some of his wrestling matches. They were pretty cool and seemed different and more like a real fake fight vs a fake fake fight...or something like that.

You couldn't do a 5 minute match much less a 10 minute match, these great athletes do 25 to 30 minute matches only the greats can go over an hour. The first ever iron man match was between Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart. Standing on this high ground like you know what the hell your talking about.

Dante Rivera is a friend of mine. I met him when I was like 12. He taught me how to hit a speed bag. I went nuts when I saw him on TUF. I know this is Matt Riddle’s episode, but :20 seconds in and I saw Dante’s distinctive blinking and had to leave a comment.
I actually watched this season of TUF when it was brand new. I stopped watching the WWE probably over 20 years ago but good for him he found his calling.
The only reason he stopped fighting was because of the drug testing but like you said he's definitely found his calling in pro wrestling it definitely suits him more than MMA although he's had a rough year since he split from his wife he got in with the wrong people started messing with drugs and pornstars and WWE ended up sending him to rehab but since he's returned from that he looks like he's back on the right track again
@@samuelrussell7003 Most potheads would mess with drugs and pornstars though if they had the option but obviously not all. I would rather fight someone who was high on marijuana personally. I think maybe 1 in 20 it might be an advantage for them but most it would be a clear disadvantage.

@@FrxBass probably because of the roid rage chris Benoit had..but I don't think they'd do it as strictly as ufc since wwe superstars are not competing against each other..in fact they do the opposite ..so there's no advantage factor

I'm not Dana's biggest fan but when you have a guy having wins overturned on numerous occasions due to lack of discipline, t's not a good look for a sport trying to prove its legitimacy with professionals rather than the stereotypical meatheads and thugs. Besides, it's the best thing to happen to Matt. He's making way more than he ever would have.

While the thing is that first fight with Riddle isn't the fact that the punch? Knocked him out, but it's the fact that he hit him 3 times after. After the fact of being already knocked out and his job being loose. That's when his job was broken and that's when he got hurt.
I'll never understand why Herb Dean gets praised as the best ref. He's a terrible ref. Either stops fights too early or let's guys take brutal uneccessary punishment.
