That's what really needed. Love God, and love your neighbor as yourself. And I respect Walsh's speaking regarding the applause of the audience... This exposes how much we are all in need of learning how to truly communicate with each other in a polite and respectful manner.

I mean, that kid probably felt like complete shit after, especially with Walsh telling him he went down the wrong path even after he told him he's happier, and then with all the hollering and the applause against him. Does that not matter, or only that the speech was "polite and respectful"?

We live in a society that vilifies and silences male voices, it's no wonder many young men are confused and lost without fathers in a society where women are incentivized financially to take those kids from them and we end up with young boys who hate their own gender without a mentor and a world that hates them for what's between their legs.

This was a good wake up call for me to be compassionate. I’m so used to seeing fury and rage from trans activists, I lost sight of the real issue. Many of these people are victims of medical fraud and psychological malpractice.

It's tough to know how much of it is "nature" and how much is "nurture." How much is inborn and how much is just a part of the confusion of growing up, bodies changing, the kids around you are also in confusion and changing, and then adults are sending out confusing ideas about sex. I know an older man who is quite short. For most of his younger days he would go after bail skippers and bring them in to jail. So, I guess his body didn't fit his attitude. Or, maybe he changed his attitude to compensate for his body. Most people have physical characteristics that aren't exactly to their liking. But they find ways to make the most of it. They adapt to it. It becomes an endearing feature, not something that's wrong and needs to be changed for them to be happy.

This is simply not true. Compassion CAN be a part of it, in the same way those that view homosexuality as a state of brokenness can be “compassionate” for homosexuals by recommending they go to conversion therapy. But the other aspect of this isn’t only the view of “brokenness”. That “brokenness” is ultimately disdained by religious conservatives because of their disdain for what they perceive as “degeneracy” or “sin”. Those who see homosexuality or transgenderism as a moral sin in large part view it this way because they fear a world in which these things are normalized and believe the normalization of these qualities will result in a world of chaos, harm, and godlessness (modern day sodom and Gomorrah). And the process of encouraging homosexuality and accepting it is viewed as a means of achieving a terrible world of harm and chaos. Now, if you want to say “religious conservatives are just so compassionate for the future world”, that’s fine. But that isn’t the same as saying their anti homosexuality perspective is mostly compassion for homosexuals. After all, most people who have conducted large scale atrocities did so partly out of compassion for a future state of affairs/ the people in that future world.

One of the problems today is that these kids have too many ways to tweak reality already. If you don't like your skin, use a filter for your pics. Don't like a certain kind of food? There's some niche diet for that. Want to go to school to get a degree for underwater basket weaving? Go for it, follow your dreams. The problems hit when they are forced to actually deal with reality that they can't change. They are spoiled by choices and feeling and think they should get whatever they want, no matter the logic. I wouldn't be surprised if these people started calling the weather "racist" or "homophobic" because it rained during their picnic. It's cognitive dissonance. They've been told by countless friends/discord acquaintances/medical professionals that this is the right move and they will CERTAINLY be happier. So during and after transition, they have this already planted seed that they will OF COURSE be happier, but they really aren't. The issue of gender dysphoria is not surface level, and mutilating genitals and jabbing hormones into yourself does not change your gender, nor fix anything at all.

It's interesting you bring up the past trauma being something that possibly led to your gender dysphoria. I don't know nearly enough about the topic, but I have always wondered how much of a correlation there is with trauma and gender dysphoria. Or not even necessarily correlation, but causation even. I would imagine there are plenty of studies or observations of gender dysphoria having correlation or causation to trauma. Anywho, while I'm not a religious person, I think you are someone that highlights the good that religion can bring to the world. It quite literally saves lives. Obviously it has its extreme dogma that takes lives too, but on an individual level, religion can be unbelievably powerful. And it's amazing it saved you. It's great to hear that you are doing well 🙏 Gender dysphoria is something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Not knowing who you are as a person is such a fundamentally huge aspect of life, and I can't even imagine the pain people have not knowing. People think I'm transphobic since I share Walsh's view, but it is anything but a "phobia." It's a concern. And while it's obviously a disbelief as well, that doesn't negate the concern. I genuinely feel for people who have this struggle. I am someone that believes enabling is NEVER the answer to any question. And that is exactly what I believe trans surgeries are. It is enabling. I see it as nothing more, nothing less. Enabling people only furthers a delusion or a behavior. There are ALWAYS better answers. @Princess There actually was a long term study regarding trans suicide in Sweden. The results are that there can be short term improvement in mood, but in the long term it doesn't work. Medical transition doesn't cure body dysphoria and the patient will require ongoing psychiatric care.

Anorexia nervosa will kill you, being trans will not. Thinking you are a man and wearing a suit or even removing your breasts and stuffing your pants, will not lead you to death on its own. Continuing to lose weight while seeing yourself as still fat will lead to your death. Perhaps re-evaluate this analogy.

What is sadder is when parents don't have a choice - schools, doctors and courts are forcing it on them. Some parents, in divorce cases, are losing custody when they won't support "affirmation". It is horrible.

My question is how many parents could sincerely be charged with child abuse? It’s as Hanlon’s Razor goes, “Don’t assume malice that which can adequately be explained by stupidity.” But not just stupidity. Also societal and government pressure. In Canada, it’s illegal to not affirm your child’s gender transition. You could lose your job, your friends, your opportunities and even your livelihood for not agreeing with it. Some parents genuinely don’t know any better and think that doing this will help their children. I would certainly charge parents who identify as gender activists and who transition their children for clout and fame but as for the aforementioned parents who are subject to societal pressure or who are simply mislead? I’m not so sure. The groups, lobbyists and activists need to certainly be held accountable for this widespread child abuse but I’m not so sure when it comes to the parents caught in the crossfire.

And the numbers of how many of trans people are autistic is horrifying. As an over 30 year old autistic man, I don’t have huge problems imagining myself falling for this narrative if it was as prevalent as now when I was young. I felt, and still feel like an alien on this planet. I don’t feel like other humans. I think different, I don’t understand all the social cues etc. I hope there is a realization with this and they stop changing their bodies and start changing their mindsets. There’s nothing wrong with their bodies. They have been born into exactly right bodies. 😶

In the UK, there is a clinic called the Tavistock Clinic. It was the only clinic for children with ‘gender dysmorphia’. They shut it down, after a study that showed this is all experimental, we have no real knowledge of the long-term effects on these kids. It was all about keeping up with the status quo. Thank God they have figured out that this was not the way to go. I’m so sorry that you have been through the mill with your transition and detransition. You have been through hell and back, and depending on where you were in your original journey will depend on how broken your physical body is. I can only hope that you were not far along. Best of luck to you, may your life be a good one. May you be strong. Know that many of us are behind you, even if you don’t know us. We are here, and support you, even when the ‘inclusive’ alphabet community who say they will support you until you detransition; we will still be here. Take yourself.

The patient himself needs to wait so he can consult with a more balanced form of guidance and obtain full and truthful information. Speaking with those who regret their decision based on what the experts and doctors say would help too.

It's important to note that most medical doctors are against this, especially treating children. I am from Australia and it is illegal to perform gender reassignment surgery on children (as it should be). Unfortunately the American health care system seems to be greatly influenced by trends instead of evidence.
