Thanks! Yeah I'll be doing alot more stress analysis too, I have the whole frame modeled now in SW as well. My wife has been incredibly supportive, more than could even be hoped, all the delays have related to career / economy...

@@matus1976 My dream is to own a Akira bike, unfortunately they'd be very expensive and I lack the technical chops to build one. I know Honda made a bike influenced by the Akira bike, but it's not red and not nearly as cool. You need that canopy that moves up and down just like the anime to be legit or at least, look like the bike. Good look, I can't wait to see the finished product!

@@interestedparty7523 I hope to make that dream a reality!! At first it would be a low production volume and expensive, but I'll be doing everything to scale production up and lower costs and hopefully get that price down in a few years. I think you're referring to the Honda NM4, yeah I wasn't impressed with that one either, to me it came off as a compromise between a recumbent and upright and wasn't good as either. Thanks for your comment!

@@matus1976 Yes, the Honda NM4. I like the Akira bike so much, that I even contemplated an NM4 for brief second but realized it's not what I really wanted. Please make sure and finish this project, so everyone can benefit from your dedication. Did you see that one Japanese guy who actually made an Akira bike? It looks like a small engine etc, but it LOOKS great. I don't know what ever happened to him or the bike.

So many trails and tribulations with this project. I'm very glad you are sticking to it. I can tell you will finish this project one day. You have belief that you can do this. And that is so important, those that falter, never finish. This will be amazing. I have followed your progress since the beginning.

Thanks!!! This is the first phase of the prototype, it'll go through a few phases, I'll upgrade to soft-tail, then single sided rear swing arm. It'll definitely end up looking more like the bike from the film. Gotta go in stages though and only add one fundamentally new thing to the geometry at each stage. There's also extra room for testing my drive train out and variations. After finishing these stages and testing I'll redesign and rebuild the whole thing from the ground up, weight and performance optimized, and integrating all those changes. That being said, I don't know what your suggestion is, it may not work with my plans, but it may be awesome, work great, and make for a better design!
