Hopefully, they begin to lean towards their cartoon network suite, Ben 10 and a retro character such as Dexter or Billy&Mandy being missing is criminal
The stage concept art is Townsville and Dexter's Lab, so safe to say they're coming at some point. But there's also like, 20 or so leaked characters from beta voice lines so lmao.
Yeah. I'm surprised he didn't go back and look carefully at the stages. He might not have recognized them I guess as he didn't acknowledge them, but if he did go back and look at them chat would have told him and we would have got his thoughts on the characters
@@mechashadow nakat screenshotted both stages and said some like “these stages look familiar. I wonder what else this could mean” this morning on X. Pretty much implying that dexter and ppg are coming because of those stages… Edit: for those who dont know Nakat is players1stgames’ community manager
@@mechashadowresults so far have shown each char gets a stage (or at least each IP). I think we're definitely getting them, but obviously that assumes the pattern stays
@@Ibuybabyaliens you know they are already friends right.. max had plans to even bring him on stream so blitzz could teach him the best builds for endgame ff7 remake super bosses.
Character wishlist: Cartoon Network and WB characters in general 1. Samurai Jack 2. Gandalf/Sauron 3. Ed, Edd, and Eddy 3. Harry Potter/Voldemort 4. Power Puff Girls 5. Green Lantern (each different skin is a different Lantern with different voice lines and different conjurations) 6. Johnny Bravo 7. Scooby Doo 8. Courage the cowardly dog 9. Fred Flintstone 10. Mordecai and Rigby
You can see that there's more added hitstun to attacks, more prominent trails to attacks, and colored knockback smoke. I think the team was watching Sakurai's videos on gamefeel and smash development while they were remaking the game
I don't think some of that is something Sakurai actually promotes lol, he doesn't like combos/high hitstun. Kazuya was his development though. This stuff is just normal
@@TwitchVOThe point he’s making isn’t about combos. It’s about making the attacks more readable. Granted, it’s still hard to follow the action in this game because the attack animations themselves are still lacking. But adding things like this is a simple way to increase readability without extensive reworks of animations.
@@kylespevak6781Rivals is a genuinely better competitive platform fighter than smash, it just never got a mainstream audience due to no IPs and retro art limiting its reach
The main issue I had with Multiversus is how it lacked weightiness to it. It felt like a bunch of cardboard cutouts on sticks moving around on screen. It never felt like the moves had any real impact. Hopefully this will also be addressed in this release!
Hard agree. I dropped the game a little earlier than most for the same reason. From what some of those clips showed, it seems like they're adding more hitstun, new sound effects, and launch trails to make it feel a bit punchier. Already looks better than what we had, but we'll have to see when we get our hands on it in May
Yeah, it’s a problem with the animations. Smash puts a lot of effort into startup and follow through animations for attacks, so moves have more impact and are easier to respond to. Attacks in this game just come out of nowhere. Characters in Multiversus just fly around, so it’s hard to keep track of.
Well that's if the player base stays after a week or so of playing again so will actually see if the wait actually paid off or if wb killed this game for people cuz let's actually be truthful here it was a good idea only for wb ta happen with how they've been known to handle shit which is iffy at best
When this game was announced I was expecting random AF characters from stuff WB owns. Why is it that Game of Thrones is the only non-animated WB series that WB owns that's in this game? Where's Kid n' Play from House Party or Clark Griswald from the Vacation series?-
The first two minutes of max explaining a key problem so many game developers run into is why I'm subscribed. I love how max rarely if ever dismisses a game as just "bad" or a team as just "bad" but instead offers praise when it's warranted and reasons and critiques where there are flaws.

I really missed this game, i was one of those people who played until it started getting weird, though not one that made it all the way to the end. It really spoke to me, ive rarely had so much fun.
With how awful, soulless, terrible and horrendous that the Warner Brothers company has been treating it's audience, it's IP's, it's creators, it's animation divisions, and it's recent dedication to killing animation, shutting down movies, deleting entire series off streaming services, and destroying entire subdivisions like Rooster Teeth, it's about time they gave us at least 2% reason to care about them again, or at least remind us why we should have any expectations for WB other than hostility and hatred of their direction as of late.
The characters actually have dash attacks now from what I'm seeing. Honestly can't wait to what all they adjusted and added to their kits. One thing they unquestionably did well imo was making the characters play exactly how you'd expect them to. Plus Lebron is crazy fun which is a wild sentence they can tip their hat on lmao.
Seeing Multiverses come back is a godsend in a way. I loved the beta but got concerned after the beta was still up and it gotten bad when it was up. With them still having hope and continuing the project is amazing and im glad for its launch
There's a lot more impact with hits and that may be why it can seem slower at times but there's also some pretty decent buffs and nerfs to characters, Finn's down tilt launches at a more inward angle now, Superman's air side special doesn't angle anymore and reindog is significantly smaller
“It was clearly never a full game” so many games come out these days incomplete and charging for shit just like this and we’ve been conditioned that betas are basically launches.
I'm glad to see its coming back. I wanted to play, but ended up finally coming around to it at the twilight of the original lauch. Now I can hopefully get a chance.
I’ll be back to play some more of it. It’s free I got nothing to lose. Lol Hopefully they’ll be announcing more new stuff for the game like characters, stages, and modes from now til relaunch.
really do have to commend the team for surviving and actually improving the game- clearly there is a lot of work being put into the animation, game feel, and overall polish. hopefully we can see some longer gameplay soon
I really hope it's a success. Going down despite its popularity to come back better is THE WAY to handle the situation. Hopefully this sets the tone for the industry
I’m very excited that multiversus is coming back, I grinded it so much when it came out and I really have high hopes for the roster as it goes forward. And I’m not even bothered it’s coming in 2 months cause we’ve already waited this long what’s 2 more months? Plus it comes out a day after my birthday, so it’s all good
they closed the beta, went 9 months without any updates then decided to give a dev update 2.5 months before release i really hope this will be worth it and wont end up shutting down after a year or two, but i cant bring myself to think otherwise
It would be great if they increased the size of the characters. I lost sight of my character too many times when there were more than two people in the game, and I'm used to playing Smash.
To be honest, what has always sold me on fighting games was the story modes or classic arcade towers with a story like ending. I understand a big part of fighting games now a days is esports, but as a casual fighter myself, we need more single player options
It had a founders pack and I never saw anything saying it was going to go down other then the game its self on the title screen they intended that to be its release till they caved to reason
I love the characters being bigger fast slow moving characters got me dizzy like no joke glad for once they are bigger and u can enjoy looking at them more
I’m honestly so excited to get back into multiversus!! I can’t wait to play the game and see all the new changes and I’m still super excited for the characters and stages that are to come!! But that PVE mode is calling my name!! 👀 I wonder what that could be about
I have to disagree with Max that it was "always clear" it was just a beta. They updated to version 1.0 when they launched season one. What other betas have seasons? Or tons of twenty dollar skins ready day one? Or balance changes and other content like arcade mode and ranked added over time? Seemed like a full release to me. Their communication was quite poor during that time and they should have been WAY more clear how long the beta was meant to stay up, because everyone was blindsided by the sudden drought of content and communication once season two hit. I want the game to succeed because I did enjoy it, but it's lost a lot of trust and they need to work hard to win that back. And until then, I think people should be very careful with their money. They've taken it offline once and they can do it again. Don't give WB an inch, because they will take several miles while trying to bleed your wallet dry.
I love the gameplay, i love the characters and even the look, but im not a fighting player, so to be PVE is the most important thing about the announcement, i hope/wish they would add a few missions, a side campaign, and as a live service it could eventually grow into something bigger...
I hope we see Static Shock soon after release. My only fear with these sorts of games is spending money on a game I technically don't own. It makes me hesitant to buy anything knowing that the game could just be taken down.
WB as a company right now kind of despises its animated catalog, or just anything not “reality content” in general. My feeling is they’ll bring this back now that people are amped, squeeze as much money as they can out of players as possible, then slash and burn the whole operation before the end of fiscal year 2024.
2:53 thats townsville. Oh snap powerpuff girls with rowdy ruff boys skins? Mojojojo being playable? COULD DEXTER BE A CHARACTER TOO!? HE COULD USE HIS DODGEBALL ROBOT!!!!?
What i love about this is that it almost feels like a Mugen game with just the sheer craziness of these different characters/worlds, but its real, and i love it! I played it with some friends during the beta and loved it, but i wanted some stuff to do solo as well!
It's a longer wait than I would have hoped, but I'm really looking forward to getting hands on to see how the changes feel! There was a lot to love about the beta, glad they've taken time to refine it.
They got Alot of attention from the trailer with Batman and shaggy!!! So just from that and the new pve mode !!! You know it’s gonna be good in its return I really have no doubt.
