Max0r Genshin Impact is a Playable Anime Reaction 

I feel like most people who play genshin understand max0rs humor and sarcasm. But I've seen a few who don't and take a lot of his jokes very literally. Such as the jokes about Nahida. I am glad you guys seem to get it's just jokes!

Max0r is a literal god! It's always great! Also small thing That "10 year old" is actually 500 years old and is never actually sexualized in the game itself. Obviously some weird people out there, but no worries the kids are save. Also that racist lady with the big butt is not actually racist herself, but her ancestors used to be extremely racist and now even though she tries her best to make her name not be associated with racism, people still treat her badly.

Part of the reason why max0r mentioned racism on multiple occasions is because genshin has a pretty dark undertone behind the pretty surface. Many gruesome and terrifying stories are hidden behind books and different quests. Stuff like slavery, cannibalism, eldrich horror, and child sacrifice are fairly common. Also collapsed civilizations with genocide are one of the key theme of the world. It's almost like a cthulhu mythos but written like a children's book in disguise. On the bright side, the overall trailers and cutscenes are very good looking and as long as you only look at the main story, it's a very beautiful world.

I find the whole "genshin sexualizes minors" situation quite baffling, because they clearly don't do that. But people still choose to view playable underage characters in a gatcha game as something to be disturbed about... yet i only see that kind of outrage for genshin - i literally have not seen any other gacha game or any other game with playable underage characters get hate for this. It's just bizarre to me

actually there is no sexualization of minors Max0r is just kidding actually it's not racism it's more like xenophobia and it has to do with lore because the people of the forest and the desert followed different gods this video is summarized in a way that explains the basics of each part of the game but with MANY jokes and basically no relevant spoilers

I love that you seem to understand Max0r's humour. As a Genshin player who's been playing since the first day, I laugh way too hard watching this video. Personally I mostly play for characters and the story, especially Sumeru part of the story was very good and we are nearing another new nation that should come out this year. His first video was 2 years ago, so most of the places you see in this video weren't in the game yet. ''It's a happy game.'' Me: still trying to cure my depression from the story (it's not working)

I dearly love the world of Genshin Impact. Espacially the characters, world and... the music. But actually Genshin Impact has this underlying sadness in the story of the world and the characters which is everpresent. It is easy to miss in regular character trailers but is there. More then once i had been teary eyes when playing the Genshin story. But by all means you should maybe try and play it. It is a world which welcomes you and is lots of fun to explore. After a day of hard and stressful work, i can come home and relax in this world. I'am very thankful for that, actually have been everyday since release.

I'm really glad you can pick apart Max0r's humor, something a lot of other people have a hard time doing and kind of muddle things up (such as thinking there is a heavy emphasis on sexualizing the characters when there isn't). I highly recommend reacting to the character Collected Miscellany videos if you want to see more about how the game is actually played + get a more in-depth look at some of the characters. There's one for a majority of the characters in the game so they could also very easily be broken into multiple parts while watching them as well.

Genshin is a game I wanted to hate playing. But after almost 2 years of playing - i adore this damn game. The characters are complex, the story is twist-filled and so engrossing. Its not your typical Gacha Game at all. You can play it in full without spending a penny and thats.... fantastic. The music is out of this world and there are a few pieces that make me burst out in happy tears (and the odd couple that are heart breaking sobs). The Genshin community can be.... terrible. But theres a few good places around and when you find those, its fantastic. Theres so much creativity in the community and so much love for the story, its characters and the decent people within the community.... Like i say, I wanted to hate Genshin. Now I cant stop playing it LOL!

Genshin is a happy game until the depression hits harder than Truck-kun hit an Isekai protagonist.

Significant work and preparation went into this. Some of that footage is from time-limited events, most to all of the flight bug footage is from tricks which don't work over most of the game's revision cycles, and while the underwater trip to Inazuma is easier than it was a year ago due to changes to the geography of the sea floor (and it looks like he made that after having gone there the normal way and doing enough of the questline to not be constantly barraged by lightning bolts reaching down to the sea floor) it still probably took at least two hours to set up for the shown footage. About as accurate as his last video, but mostly with fresher memes. (By the way, the last Prop Hunt one is a bit hard to get if you don't know it. Roughly even odds the person chasing him knew he was on top of that flagpole; the catch is on that map there are no really good approaches to tagging somebody there - it's one time the high ground advantage doesn't lie with the hunter, and the hunter's best strategy was to wait for something that would happen a couple of minutes in. So it was better to ignore him as long as there was somebody else to catch. People kept finding that spot (I certainly did, although I did so with a character a few inches too short to stand up on it beneath the invisible ceiling), thinking they'd invented a new strategy, and making videos about how "no one ever looks up".) The Sumeru racism thing's pretty accurate, although it's more cultural: Sumeru ended up taking over - without invading or occupying - the neighboring nation which was becoming a desert. Worse, both places have had their existing governments broken since, and the new desert got the worst of it. Fast-forward a few centuries, and between genuine misinformation, nobody having the security codes to get into places in the desert that maintained historical records, and the exposure of opportunists along the way, nobody trusts anybody else's version of history. That quest definitely involves a being that took it from "casual" to "competitive", though. Almost a shame he hadn't waited a couple more weeks before releasing this: I suspect the upcoming memes about the newest characters will be along the lines of "Orochimaru's good twin" and "penniless artist running with his briefcase to a business meeting because they might feed him". (Neither is that accurate, but memes.)

Max0rs rewiev and edit is legendary, could have added also how dark some of the Lore or the quests are (unless he did it in the last vid).

I love this video because Max0r includes a couple bits from his old genshin video. One of the first things he said in the original video he made years ago was the age of consent joke and now he uses it again to close the video as a nice callback.

Ever since the "Story Roadmap" trailer, Travail, that came out days before the game did, it's been implied that the world has a dark past buried beneath the surface, and that has always been true since 1.0. If you explore beyond the mainline story, if you read the in-game books and item descriptions, it paints a fuller picture of the world that isn't so bright. As the game has progressed, the main story (and event stories) have slowly started to peel that curtain back, as the main character is starting to unveil some of that themselves, but it has always been visible to the players if they sought it out. As far as the racism goes, some of it is a joke, some of it is serious. For example, Eula herself is not racist, but she is of a lineage of aristocrats that used to rule Mondstadt tyrannically and owned slaves. Eula broke away from her family's crappy beliefs but the people still treat her poorly because of her association with her family purely by name. Before the character fully released, but it became known she was from that family, some folks caused a stir on social media, criticizing HoYo for releasing a playable character from a racist family; the irony is that they were doing exactly what others in the narrative were doing. On the other hand, there are stories in the game that deal with discrimination, and it's not something the game ever condones as a positive thing. And as others have said, the minors are not actually sexualized; the argument some make is that the mere inclusion of "loli" characters is pandering to pedos. It's a purely assumptive argument, and who knows if it's true or not, but the game does not do anything to push that angle for those characters. I honestly love Nahida (the God of Wisdom/Knowledge) and have the urge to "protecc" and nothing more. Her appearance aside, she IS 500 years old, and while that is young for a god and thus she has child-like moments, she is also very knowledgeable and wise and I like that about her character. At the end of the day, I think it's worth considering that if the game was as "bad" as all of his jokes make it out to be, I don't think that's something anyone would want to admit to playing, especially himself (and as much as he has). So, always worth taking heapfuls of salt with his videos.

Genshin is a very happy and bright game... If you dont look too closely. The background stuff is extremely dark, and sometimes that kinda leaks through.

as with the other people commenting here I will now also chime in on this. Genshin Impact in itself does not sexualize these children. All the children are happy , safe, and not sexualized in any way. but it is both a running gag and a stigma haters of the game attribute to it.

Watch total war Troy and Rome 1&2 as they have dedicated campaigns focusing on one particular group/faction/leader, besides from the grand campaign and regular campaign they have a lot to showcase.

“It’s a happy game” oh boy, well you’re not wrong there’s a lot of just infectious happiness to the game but it’s certainly not all sunshine and rainbows and we’re getting darker by the day. Basically since inzuma onward the game has explored sadder stories and darker themes but honestly in great ways. There were sad stories sprinkled in the earlier zones but stories certainly have gotten heavier, but there still is that silly infectious happiness. Honestly imo the writing and story is one of the things I’m really looking forward because it just keeps getting better and the hints/teasers both in game and out are done really well.

Inazuma is actually amazing. Same for Sumeru.

"It's a happy game" Uhh, haha, about that... The most recent story quest was actually quite depressing. Trying to be vague here, the new quest basically makes you wonder what kind of gods punish children for the sins of the adults around them. Things get quite heavy when you're talking to a dad who is so desperate to save his son that he's willing to grovel at a statue of one of the gods he hates. But... yeah. And no, Genshin does not actually sexualize the children. I still don't understand where that joke comes from. The child characters are portrayed as just kids who are cute in a normal kid way. Nahida, as a fairly newly-born god, is trying to understand the world and how human emotions work. Qiqi is a zombie and thus has memory problems, but one thing she does remember is that she loves coconut milk. Yaoyao loves to help take care of people and carries around a magical stuffed rabbit that one of the mystical beings of Liyue gave her. Klee loves making and playing with bombs (I think she learned about explosives from her mom, who is quite chaotic?) and is being taught good morals and behavior. In one quest, she felt horrible when one of her bombs accidentally blew up an Abyss Mage, which is one of the bad guys, so she promptly ran home, saying she was gonna turn herself in for her crime. Stuff like that. This game can still be bright and happy and cute, but there is an underlying darkness that is coming to the forefront, not gonna lie.

Not really I like the story first, I kinda don’t like how this might leave a bad taste. People already bully people who play this game. The sexualizing in the video was 🫣. But yeah funny… I just don’t want y’all to think Genshin is a dating game when it’s mostly about history and Gods.

Max0r has very dark and extreme humor, so take most of his jokes with a grain of salt. The game itself doesn’t actually sexualize minors, that’s on the community’s fault, which I think you guys understand There are certainly a few racist undertones in the sumeru area but it’s more of being informative about the history of such minorities rather than with harmful intent. However, I do agree sumeru has the best storyline in the game, despite the minor flaws people will point out (such as the racist undertones) the story of sumeru is by far the best in the game.

I would personally define genshin as the "disney version" of anime, mainly when I'm used to the Souls games (dark souls and such) because of its attitude and perspective on things. But I'm in the same state as Maxor... I can't stop playing it🥵🥶. I think that "innocence" is what attracts people that make the community half adorable and half insufferable. I mean, I've caught myself being nice and saying "have a nice day" to people and I would never do that 🤣. Genshin can be quite fun, just don't take things too seriously, including the community (this most of all), and it should be quite a pleasant experience.

As much as i find max0r's videos funny his videos are really damaging to genshin's reputation, because the jokes likes "age of consent is 18" "racism" etc put the game in bad light to people who are unaware of the meme culture inside genshin, so for anyone wanting to try out genshin could be driven away due to the fact that they already have a bad notion of the game and this could reinforce their belief. Maxor video's are always good but its sad that people misunderstand the jokes he makes and take it seriously and wont play the game for themselves and just judge the game by what they hear in the internet.

To be far, the jokes about racism are pretty overblown. They are more secondary to the actual themes and morals of the stories. And yes we play this game for the characters. Mostly, the plot is pretty good too

Is it just me or one can't understand half of what his saying?(And I'm playing genshin.) Due to Xi Jinping's famous word "Game is opium", the Holoverse had VERY stirct rules of sexuality and nudity. In my part, it was refreshing to jump around in a anime style game without having to worry about panty shots.

And if he felt comfortable threatening and intimidating me at age 31......then he absolutely did the inappropriate stuff. And there's 37 victims as of right now. Most of the are/were under 18 when Elliot groomed them. But he has been fired and they are recasting him.

If you guys have no idea what a gatcha game is, Genshin Impact is answer. Holy fuck they want to squeeze out your money. I like the game but locking things behind paid transactions (that do not guarantee that you get it) is not a very "ethical" practice. Anyway you guys can try it if you want. Love Max0r's videos tho.
