People aways overlook the slots in the foot of the press and that the power head can swivel. If you make the cabinet front to back deeper, say 6,8 -ish inches and base floor past rear panel. The hollow created with various straps or clamps mounting methods for long stock, for end boring long stock by pushing back the press and rotate the head, counter weight in base. Hollow can also store special fences and flat jigs.

Nice work! Also, it's nice to see a woodworker on RU-vid who hasn't thrown away all the guards on their table saw. You're a rare breed these days. 😂

You're way, waaay ahead of me with your shop but I made progress and finally unboxed and installed the Makita MLT100! Nice design for your drill press stand. I don't have one yet but I know where to find inspiration. Question: What is the ideal distance for calculating the space for the sliders? I still run into problems that the gap is either to wide or narrow.

O think you would benefit from having adust collection system. Maybe try building a cyclone dust filter so the vacuum can run for long periods without need to be serviced.

How do the drawers slide with some tool weight in them? Wondering about the slides.

Nice build Jean. May I ask, why did you choose to have the backs of your drawers inset into dadoes instead of just rebating them onto the ends of the side pieces? Was that just to be able to get to the back of the drawer a little easier without pulling the drawer off it's slides? Thanks man. A great video as always.

Great video and quality content as always! However, I noticed there's a high pitch tone in all of your quiet takes. I don't notice it when you're talking or using a power tool but whenever there is a clip that's quiet, where you are assembling the drawers, there is a very loud tone. I just thought I should make you aware of this noise since I didn't notice anyone else mention it in the comments. Maybe my ears just haven't been destroyed by power tools yet 😄

Nice! Instead of miter saw, maybe a trim router, with wood pieces clamped in vise would be better? Just a suggestion, I've utilized and have had success in the past, especially with multiple pieces to dado

So, the traditional drawer types have a floating bottom that is not glued or affixed on any side. Is there a reason why you chose to glue the bottoms into place instead?
@nicklloyd-jones
@nicklloyd-jones 3 года назад
Traditional drawer bottoms are made from solid wood and have to allow for expansion and contraction due to changes in humidity. As he used plywood there is no reason to not use glue as it is inherently more stable.

I enjoy your videos and the way you solve some of the problems of the small workspace. But you have one annoying problem and if I was there you would be being hit by block of 3x4 timber, have you counted how many times you say "All right guys" sometime it is at the end of every sing separate sentence you use. It can become a bad habit and drive people away from your RU-vid channel
