Good video i did mine in the summer actually alot easier than my old car.I did struggle to get the old filter out and actually thought it had another bolt that i couldn't find.👍
Just wanted to thank you for the clear and detailed video. I managed to get this done easily and the car is now running perfectly. Make sure to fill your filter with diesel before you reinstall. No pump needed just put a funnel on the inlet and fill it up. Greetings from Macedonia
Thanks for their video mate, very helpful. My car has same engine so was same procedure, except all bolt's 8mm on mine which was handy! I've worked out that little random adapter that does nothing is what you hold on to help pull it out, so saves using screwdriver's 😀
If you have a diesel and try to start your engine and you can hear the engine turning, then it could be your fuel pump has stopped working, your filter has blocked. If you have petrol then it also could be your spark plugs. If you have obd reader then you could see if it is a sensor such as the crank shaft. With out much more information I can only give general places on what to look at.
I think the fuel filter ( i could be wrong) on your model. It is located somwhere behind the rear wheel on the drivers side. If you go to Euro car parts and enter you reg. You can see what the filter looks like.
hi sir. i have mazda 3 2009 Diesel and it showing powertrain sign. so it's because of fuel filter. ? it runs and drive but it's not going over 80. thanks best regard sandhu
I believe that may be a clogged diesel particulate filter or a lack of exhaust fluid which can only be filled in the container under the car near the fuel tank
Hi, Changed the filter a month ago. All went well, but now i got a problem with the car. On the first startup after it sat for a while, it stalls. Same symptom as if you did not fill the fuel filter or air entered in the fuel. Any ideas? Cheers!
This is a late reply, but for future people watching this, I just saw another videos, many people with this issue. The trick is to start the engine and let it idle for 30 mins, then turn up the A/C on full and let it idle for another 15 minutes. This apparently is the correct process for letting the ECU discover the correct fuel mixture. Its seems to require this any time you disconnect the battery.
@@mishutz I'm getting a lean fuel mixture code, swapped my air filter, cabin air filter, spark plugs, cleaned maf sensor and im waiting on parts so I can do the fuel filter and o2 sensor. the code hasn't reappeared but apparently it can take 2 weeks for it to reshow if it is going to.
Need some more information. Does the engine turn when you try to start? If so (silly question), do you have enough fuel in the fuel tank? If you do, check that you have not disconnected by accident the air flow sensor on the air intake, located on the pipe from the air filter. Check the air filter is not blocked. Do you have any lights on the dashboard when trying to start the car?
I had the same problem. There is no lift pump in tank, just fuel gauge. It was a bit of a pain to get ALL air out of system.without correct tool but it was the only way to get it running.
I fixed the pepblem ....the next day. Turn s out that my type of engine if it gets air in the instalation then it is a nightmare to restart the engine. I sprayed the intake from the air turbo with starting spray plus I hooked the car battery to another car batery. You need a lot o amperage until it starts. After 10 to 15 minutes of spraying and trying to start ...the car finaly started.
Bill Kendich . Did you bleed the fuel line as shown in the video. Because if the fuel filter is not filled with diesel, then when you start, the filter will fill up with fuel and the engine will just turn over. Also make sure the fuel line connections and electrical connection are tight and in the right way round. Also when you say that your car does not start. When you try to start Can you hear the engine trying to start, or you hear nothing. If you hear nothing there there is another issue.
@@seriously-learntodrive It fired up today. Problem was, the fuel line wasn't properly bled from the filter to the common rail. I used a pump to fill up the line.
