In this video, Rob shows us how to manually do the idle relearn procedure on a low idling and almost stalling Mazda 3. To join TaT visit www.tat.net.au/social.html
This is EXACTLY what i've been scouring the internet for! Everytime i have to disconnect the battery in my mazda 5 the idle is exactly like this and i always have to take it to NTB to have them fix it, and of course they know to do this to mazdas LOL Thank you SO much!
Rob, Thanks so much for the video. Just had the clutch replaced in our '07 Mazda 3 and it ran like a pig afterward, idle all over the place and it wanted to stall nearly every time you came to a stop. Took it back to the mechanic and he was basically clueless (in his defense the car ran ok while he checked it out). Watched your video and had it running perfectly in 30 minutes the next morning. I had asked several people what might be wrong prior to seeing your video, they all had answers for me, all of which were totally wrong. Thanks again, next time I'll go straight to RU-vid as there were plenty of videos on the subject, obviously a common problem. Cheers, Scott
Hello, every time I start my Mazda Cx3 the engine has fluctuating idle and with or without the air conditioning activated and after about 20 seconds it works fine, I don't know if this is normal or what could be causing it.
It's 4 bolts and a connector on the front driver's side of the engine. Clean with a stiff brush, maybe brass, and MAF cleaner. Get a new gasket ($4 in my area) and reinstall. Careful with connector if you break it, it's gonna have to be pulled from junkyard.
@@negautrunksI literally just did this and am currently sitting in my car warming it up while recalibrating. My only suggestion to the process is make sure that the throttle cable is adjusted enough to remove the slack, but not start moving the butterfly so that there's no slop between foot movement and throttle change.
I clean my throttle body by hand and touched the flap by hand too. I didn’t know I had to recalibrate the idle. Now am gonna disconnect the battery and do this procedure to see if it fixes my Acceleration and idle issue
@@mvc2177 where on earth did you find a TB for 70 DOLLARS?!? the cheapest i can find is for about $300 from oreilys auto parts and the oem part from mazda for 600 something dollars
Why cant the customer clean his own throttle body? Its really easy on Mazda's. You guys probably charged him 500 dollars for nothing more than childs play with a car.
There are a lot of customers who are too afraid to try it themselves, or just don’t want to spend their time getting their hands dirty and would rather pay someone else to do it. It’s the same with people who hire others to mow their lawn clean 5heir house or paint their home( internally, at least). I hope that explains it for you.
