It'll be cool if you do little videos throughout the season when there is notable development etc

Really, this analysis is more of a new bodywork analysis + analysing some stuff from last year that I never got around to. Anyways, hope you enjoy it and please let me know if it was worth your viewing time even if they didn't show us much new to talk about!

It's always worth listening to what you have to say about aero & cars in general. Thanks a lot

It would be cool if you could make a video on how you think the teams will finish in the championship, based on what you think of their design. For instance if you think Haas will finish P5 based on how their car looked, but they actual finish 9, etc. Hope it made sense. :)

Would you be willing to do a video (videos) on aerodynamics without restrictions of rules? For example About designing a undertray (inlet, floor, expander) for downforce if there would be no rules and then introduce step by step some restrictions and the meaning of them to get to actual under trays used in race cars ace series like f1? Start from first principles and then introduce the position of wheels, location of driver etc and then specifics for f1 or other race series. Get the idea that will give you more opportunity to show off your skills and to me much more entertaining to actually learn sonething. Your videos explaining aero about for example unsprung down force enjoyed the most.

All of your videos are great and great to watch. It’s amazing that it’s worth it fiddle with all the tiny details and edges and vortices generated all over the place. For the non aero person it might be helpful if yo could weight the various things, meaning a coarser overview of the cars overall aero concept compared to each other…. Where does the air go and where it does things differently from a competitor. Maybe just pick RB vs MB vs Ferrari once they are all out and compare them to each other… But whatever you do, thx a lot for the added insight you give us. It’s rather sad for F1 that all the technical finesse gets lost in the normal broadcast world or only revealed so late… I would have loved a documentary about the porposing issue being handled inside MB

These videos are a MUST watch at the beginning of every season. If you have the time to evaluate major updates during the season, I think they would do well also.

Loving these videos. I'd be really interested in seeing a video about how these surfaces are modeled in 3D space. Would be really cool to see your process in 3d surfacing to develop some of these complex shapes.

You should do these after the first day of racing. Then you could do one video and put all the car changes after the other races. Or when there have been enough changes

Hi Kyle! I really enjoy trying to understand all the small aspects that you are bringing up with your analysis! Do you think you could in the end maybe give a sort of your predictions on wether you think the car is more or less draggy, have more of a oversteer/understeer type of philosophy sowe could know what we could be looking for as the season goes on? Don't get me wrong is just that I can't put together the information you give and do those predictions myself 😅

I love how the McLaren sidepod paint visually shapes the area. From the front it makes it look like the sidepods are ridiculously wide at the top, almost like the undercut goes all the way to the driver compartment the whole way. Very interesting shapes... Visually. The mechanics are maybe eh.

Maclaren were the first to show the deeper, more channelled sidepod top. Also, they were the first to show the absolutely maximised sidepod undercut and boat like bow to the tub above the venturies vanes. Alfa, hass and ferrari and Aston have followed suit on their launches, which has got boring fast. It's odd though that nobody else have copied redbulls 2022 single carbon fibre blade front suspension " wishbone", giving it stiffness and flex for the drivers grail of a pointy front end, and massive weight saver.

it would be interesting to see an analysis of the lemans hypercars, if that's viable. I know they're limited on lift/drag ratio, but I'd like to know you're take on how they're getting there. Appreciate this may not be possible if they're mostly working off underbody effects.

Is it the Audi that doesn't have a rear wing? Basically with the drag/downforce limits, they discovered they could make good downforce just behind the front wheels, plus the diffuser, and the rear wing just wasn't necessary.

Would you be able to present a forward engineering path into an aero kit rather than reverse engineering? Maybe through an old project? Just to see the design steps through all the considerations, restrictions, innovations...

The Ferrari appears largely unchanged, which is understandable given that the 2022 package was good, and that there will be a focus on engine reliability. However, there appears to be changes to the less conventional aerodynamic elements. I noticed an additional airfoil implemented to the top of the halo, and a restructuring of the mirrors with added aerodynamic elements. The lighting is not ideal so I will await images from the track debut, especially since you can't see any of the floor. But, the front wing does appear to feature Mercedes-esque fins. To my understanding these elements were deemed illegal for 2023, so perhaps the render isn't strongly representative of the real car?

Is there any way to make a funny shaped piece of bodywork behind the rear wing to capture the rear votex and provide downforce? Like a perfectly shaped spiral that is just smaller then the vortex, or maybe fan blades that have a aerofoil pushing down?
