I think what makes this one so funny is that first they got the original cast back and then said “Well, the traps in the first movie would have caused serious injuries. What if this time, we just made Kevin’s traps straight-up attempted murder?” And I’d say it worked out pretty well, so…🤣

I think the reason there was no Home Alone 3, at least with the McAllisters, is after two years of this they were like "You know what? Let's just stay home next year." The first time I saw this, I was convinced Kevin was going to give the other turtledove to the burglars, binding their fates together and dooming them to battle until the end of time.

My older brother and I grew up loving this movie. Daniel Stern is so fucking funny and that brick scene and the electrocution scene were the funniest shit I'd ever seen growing up. Also Kevin's bed set was the same as my brother's and that was a big deal for us back then.

Merry Christmas to you both. I've only seen the first two and this one was always my favourite. In part because of Tim Curry, he's just too good. The movies have to have that tie in but you're right, they're different enough so they're enjoyable as separate stories and keep you interested.

Home Alone 2: Fatality, Flawless Victory Great commentary you guys! Love the energy. I would just say though, I know for people who grew up with snow and everything associated with cold weather as the norm/cultural ideal at Christmas, anything other conditions feel just wrong but...speaking for those of us raised in tropical climates (I'm from the Caribbean), not to mention most of the Southern Hemisphere where the seasons are opposite, Christmas is completely lovely in the sunshine. It's not better or worse, just different.

When Trump, who owns the hotel in the film, was asked where the lobby is, he says "Down the hall and to the left". Keven then goes down the hall and to the right but still ends up in the lobby. This suggests that Trump doesn't know the way around his own hotel.

I used to work at O'Hare. Lots of remodeling in terminal 3 but the decorations are still exactly the same. Still looks very similar to when this movie was filmed.

33:00 Home Alone 2 is way better than the first one I agree. I laughed way more at this one, as a kid I would play this on repeat. Like you said it's strange for the sequel to be better but it truly is. You would think for a show with this premise the sequel wouldn't be good.

I've lived in FL for over 30 years now, about 25 that I can actually recall because before you're 5 you're dumb and don't remember much had 1 christmas in snow, when we moved to New Mexico for a few months. I loved it it MIGHT get cold here in FL during December, but there are plenty of christmases I remember the family cooking outside on a grill or a smoker, and us sweating from the afternoon sun.

I had to check a map & make sure there was a Leavenworth, Washington. The thought of your ‘trip’ being to Leavenworth, Kansas made me depressed. I grew up about 30 minutes from Leavenworth, KS & I wouldn’t even drive the 30 minutes to it, much less cross half the country!🤣

I think I like both home alone 1 and home alone 2 the same. They were both amazing and I had, and still have, so much fun watching them. There was supposed to be a Rated R Home Alone movie with Ryan Reynolds. He was a guy living alone, his flight was cancelled so he's forced to stay home alone for Christmas and he smokes weed, burglars show up and yadda yadda. Not sure whatever happened to it.
