After over 30 years in my house I’m getting ready to move to a smaller place. These videos have me throwing tons of stuff away I haven’t seen or used in years! Thank you!

These hoarders never really change and as I pointed out to my ex partner hoarder husband; quote, "You realize when you pass away that most of your junk will be cleared out and thrown away"?

it is because of these videos I cleaned out my house and basement, closets have been cleaned out also along with the garage of old tools we no longer need or use.

They are the cleanest hoarders I've ever seen.

I could happily listen to Peter read a phone book for hours. His voice is amazing. He should read for Audible.

I love this program but have a bit of an issue with the large amount of black screen time in place of (I'm guessing) commercials.

Storage units should only be used when you are in the middle of prepping and selling your home. But even then , when I was selling our last home, I didn't use a storage unit. But I did donate a lot, after living in the condo for 18 yrs. The only other reasn to keep a unit might be if you have a business and need the storage for product. But even then, those products should be moved regularly.

I understand the books! You get to live until you've had the chance to read them right?

The couple clearly have their daughters' things as they said (as do I but my house is big enough to store them). I thikn they need to try to persuade the daughters to take the things back and sort them out themselves or they - the daughters - pay for the storage. Drummer man reminded me our drum kit. After 10 years in my cupboard other than when my son's band sometimes used it - it has never really been used much since my other son passed his grade 8 drums exams (he's pretty good). No one was playing it so I sold it back to the drum shop we bought it from for about £400 and let the two boys have half the money each - better than clogging up so much space in my house. This programme always reminds me how very little most things are worth and if you are keeping them because you think they will be worth a huge amount then don't bother. I gave my stamp collection and coin collection to the charity shop last year as I never looked at them and I Know the value was under £100 if not less. (I kept my mother's 1930s stamp album for old time's sake however as I don't have many of her old things but again its value is zero).

It would be nice to see young people have the enjoyment of learning to play those drum sets

I am 30 but still got a lot of toys and children books. I started decluttering 2 years ago but there is still a bunch of stuff. Only keeping my favourites

Awww such lovely people. Its a shame they didn't get anything at auction. I hope they get up the money for their holidays.

I really enjoy these videos about hoarding... and I would really like if the actions were more filled with things... it always seems "not enough" money for all the work. Or then follow up on the sales they make with their thigs, and see some REAL results and not only few hundred pounds that seem not quite enough for all the things they take out from their storage units.

I fight my hoarding proclivities every day. It's an illness, a mental problem. Stress, depression, anxiety. And BOOKS!!! I bought books like a cocaine addict going on a mad drug spree. I've had to give up boxes of books every time I've had to move. Tons of books. I've still got boxes of books. It's like cutting off fingers and toes. It's not logical or reasonable. It's madness.

Personal opinion here; books are not hoarding. You can never have too many books.

Interesting because people retain things believing that "sentiment" will add to the value of an item - it doesn't. Also, many believe that the monetary value is more than it really is. Both are unrealistic. 'nuf sed

She acted like it was devastating 🤣🤦‍♀️ these relatives ate extremely demanding aren’t they? I kno they mean well but dang !!! Paul’s son needs to chill so does Margaret’s sister in law . They don’t need to treat them like 4 year olds. JMO

That sister in-law would do my head in. She is very opinionated considering it is actually none of her business what her brother and sister in law have in storage.

These people fib if you want to get rid of junk put reasonable prices on it. I can't understand hoarders I hate junk everywhere.

Why have amazing things in storage? Storage only when too much stuff from families past on ....... and you want or send off.... not to save for a life time ro the end. You know when there is an antique....not now in storage!
